I'm getting pretty good at replacing window motors
 

Just replaced my drivers side for the second time. After the OEM motor failed I replaced it with one from Autozone. Lifetime warranty came in handy because it failed after about 10 months. Autozone gave me a new motor, no charge. Hopefully this one will last longer.

If anyone in the Raleigh NC area needs a hand replacing their window motor, I've got all the tools and the know-how.

+1 I'm there with you except I've replaced both sides. At least I know I can replace a broken window or a window tint fix it ticket now.

I didn't know Autozone had lifetime replacement. Guess I'll have to get that next time.

I've gotten to be a freaking expert at this too.
I had my passenger side failing periodically so instead of cleaning it out like some do, I figured to save time and hassle by replacingit. So I ordered a new one from Kragens with the liftime warranty, waited to get it, finally got it so followed the steps to remove the door panel, etc.
So I swapped the motors, did the reset 16-20 times and the freaking thing (new motor) would not do that partial roll down and up when openning and closing the door correctly. What it would do is upon openning the door the window would roll down about 3 inches. If you closed the door and reopenned it it would roll down another 3 inches. It would not stop doing that!
So I called and ordered another motor and returned the old one. Before I got the second new motor, I cleaned up the old motor really well and re-installed it and sure enough that worked fine. I finally got the second 'new motor' and installed it but this time the window was off the track and I didn't realize this. The thing made some window on metal sound that sure wasnt' good and the motor got so freaking HOT from all the resistance I'm sure it was getting. So once I figured that out and put it back in the track correctly it worked like it should and I didn't even have to do the reset procedure, it worked fine from the beginning (SWEET). But between all that I must have put the damn thing in about 10 times! Oh and anyone else doing that...take it to heart and be CAREFULL when tightening the brass screws that hold the window tracks, I stripped one and it was a pain in the a$$ to get around.

The dealer told me $420 to replace my motor. I think I will just go to autozone and get one, is it a pretty easy install? Just plug and play right? thanks

that is ridiculous, they should last much longer than that

I Have The Same Problem As Most Of You,but How Hard Is It To

Change The Motor Or Clean,and What Tools Will I Need

I once had to replace the motor when the window was down. If that's your case then it will be harder but can still be done. If the window is up, it's a lot easier because the bolts will line up with the holes on the panel.

If you search, there should be a diagram somewhere. If I find it laying around, I'll post it.
