Just curious what wiper blades have you had the best luck with. Or is a wiper blade a wiper blade. Just curious

I'm using Rain-X blades and they seem to work good for me.

They're expensive but the Bosch that I have now have lasted me the longest of any blade I've bought in the last twenty years.

i have the framless bosch ones and they were a big improvment over my oem

PIAA silicone and they come with a carbon fibre look!!

my contours work great, look nice too. have rain x's on the rustang IMO they suck. I liked bosch's also but they dont seem to last long for me?

SuperBlack350z 04-13-2008 01:16 PM

Bosch ICON. Nothing works better. Have the on both of my Zs.

I had to replace my blades in Sep. 04 because of a chip in the windshield (possible glass fragments in the wiper I was told). I bought the PIAA Silicone blades and they have been on ever since and still work great.

I think spending alot of money on wiper blades is worthless to someone like me who lives in the north. The winter weather is going to take a beating on them. From the bladess freezing to the windshield, to the blade scraping over bumps of ice on the glass. I dont mind replacing them every two years.

I had the Bosch ones for a few months then they started to seperate. I have had really good luck with the rain x ones. They have been on my car for 2 winters now when driving in snow and ice.

Cheap'o ones! I install a new pair every 6 to 9 mos., so I
always have a brand new set that do a FINE job! I don't care WHO manufactures them, extreme heat and cold WILL
make 'em brittle, & go bad. At $2.59/pair, you just can't beat that!

Generally members replace the entire wiper assembly. I am very pleased with PIAA.

As is the Heat in Texas ---A silicon is best

Reg blades here have to be replaced 3 times a year

PIAA silicone here too. I put them on after the OEMs were about 6-8 months old. I have a '05 with 75,000 miles on it and still have the same blades on and they work like brand new. Leaves a silicone coating on the windshield and works just like Rain-x. I love how the water just beads right up. Follow the instructions in the package about cleaning the windshield and running the blades in for 5 minutes when you put them on and you can't possibly go wrong. :D I don't know if they come in refills but buy the whole wiper. If you don't have a nice parts store nearby get them at the Tirerack web site. If they seem expensive consider how many cheap $12-16 dollar sets I would have gone through by now!

Eazzy 04-15-2008 05:36 PM

If it hasnt been mentioned ---Rain-X makes a windshield washer fluid that works great

Chad68 04-19-2008 05:36 PM

I just now installed some Bosch Icons. Man nice and quiet and no streaks. Kinda pricey about $40 for both fronts but worth it.
