hmmm...I need to reopen my door to take another look at that magnetic cover to see!
But according to you guys, how good is the autozone/advance auto motor comparing to the Nissan one?
How often do we replace that autozone ones (assuming that we have the guarantee part)

I've taken apart my motor 3 times to clean it. It works fine for about a week or two after that, then starts to slow down again.
Vo, that first link on the first page goes to something other than a window motor.

Yeah, the OEM motor might last longer, but you know its gonna end up breaking anyway and you'll be stuck buying another one again. Might as well buy the rebuilt one for half the price and replace it for free when it does break down again...

I will be attempting to clean mine tomorrow, since the driver sides window is stuck all the way down. Is it possible for me to keep the window down while doing this procedure?
Thanks vo7848!!! ill let you know how it goes.

Yipeeeeee...
Well, ordered a new motor from nissan (performance nissan on their ebay site - 169 plus 10 for shipping) and just installed it, thus ending my window dilema.
Thank you SOOOOOOO much for this awesome DIY.
I owe you $300 dollars worth of beer!

Yeah this post rocks... fixed mine right up. To answer my own question, yes- windows should be up while doing this. Also to add... you really gotta clean it well!!
Thanks again!

I guess if it works for a while thats better than nothing, but I think this is only a temporary fix.

not trying to be a down-er but if your going to clean the motor and do this procedure... Than while you have temporarily fixed your motor save your money for a new one because you'll be buying one soon enough....

My motor on the passengers side I think might be messed up! Well when I roll the window up and down I hear like a grinding noise. Also my drivers side window when I open and close the door, it goes up and down to make side it's tight when I leave the car. But my other window doesn't! Does anyone have this same problem or something similar to it?

This is a great write up, thanks. Let's pretend that I replaced the motor, put everything back together, and forgot to do the reset step. Is there another way to do this without taking off the door panel again? Can I just disconnect the battery or something lazy like that?

This is a great write-up. Is there any way to tell if your motor is completely shot before investing all the time and taking everything off? I've read a few posts about people doing this DIY, only to end up finding that their motor was dead anyways.
