Slight vibration/shudder over bumps

Hey all,

I am getting slight vibration, i wouldn't call it cowl shake but that is almost how the steering wheel feels over bumps and expansion joints. It does not feel like kickback but rather like the whole steering wheel shudders slightly. It does not matter if i am in a turn or going straight and there is no shudder over even pavement under any condition. No shudder under braking either. I can rule out tires and balancing. Probably not the alignment either, unless this has to do with too much toe out...

My previous car was AWD and all the previous cars were FWD and none had this effect so i was thinking this is just an effect of RWD with the front wheels spinning freely and thus reacting to uneven surfaces in this way but i just wanted to make sure just in case.

Thanks.

P.S. It is an '08 350Z Touring. Stock. just over 900 miles.

Edit: I am not new to stiff suspension setups, my previous car was an Evo 9 so i am not counting for normal "feedback". I've driven cars with a much stiffer suspension setup vs. my Z and none displayed the "shudder" thus i wanted to find out if this is normal.

Follow-up: I notice that the shudder only happens when both wheels hit something rough or uneven. Just one (either) of the wheels hitting a rough spot does not produce it.

I think its normal for the car to vibrate when it hits a bump. The suspension in these cars is very stiff.

Yeah, i think so too. Just drove several cars back to back, it looks like it is just the sensitive feedback of the Z. All is well. Thanks.

Gonna resurrect this old thread!
I feel slight vibrations through the steering wheel at speed..not a shimmy imbalance though. Is this just a normal thing with Zs?
