Seats won't move forward and back, help!
I know moving the seats around while the car is off will drain the battery after a few minutes to the point where you won't be able to move the seats around anymore and have to turn the car on.
But once the car is back on they should work after from personal experience. Now the car is on and the seats will only recline, so the forward and backward switch doesn't do anything, the seats refuse to move, and to make things more difficult the seats are all the way up to the front because I was working in the back seats. the idea was to take the 4 bolts out holding the seats in and disconnect the wiring harness maybe somehow reset the seat motors, but that's impossible now with the seats pushed all the way up, I'm unable to access the two front bolts. __________________ |

yea I do, a coupe...
also wanna add more info to the list now..... few other things aren't working either, like the sunroof won't open and close, the interior trunk light doesnt turn on neither do the lights on the bottom of the door (step lights) as well as the mirror lights don't turn on once I flip open the mirror cover...... we've checked a bunch of fuses, all 3 fuse boxes, and can't find any blown fuses. |
Probably not a fuse issue with that many outages. I had gauges, odometer, stereo, etc. go out and it was my a/c module.
|
ok the sunroof is back working, everything else still not.....
can you guys give me more info on the battery reset procedure, how long does it take exactly for the "brain" of the car to reset itself. meaning how long do I have to keep the battery unhooked for everything to go back to normal. |
Is the motor attempting to move the seat? Check the rails there can be something lodged in there preventing it from sliding has happened to me before
|
no the motor won't even come on. So it's another issue, something to do with electrical.
ok so I tried disconnecting the driver side motor and then reconnecting it, and now it won't even recline !!! so nothing works on the drivers side currently, before the recline motor was working at least. |
FIXED:
BLOWN FCKIN FUSE, FCK what a headache |
