2003 350z TPMS Backwards/faulty?
Do TPMS go bad ever? I've had my front right sensor acting funny lately, sometimes giving no readout and giving the tire pressure warning light... then after turning off/on the car, it works again.
I'm wondering if perhaps I just switched the wheels from left to right accidentally when I mounted the new tires though. Would that matter on an '03? |
one of mine did that. its all the way out now. now another is doing the same. i wonder if they have batteries or just need to be replaced

The batteries in the sensor have about a 7 year life expectancy. At that point, they will start flaking out, like you are seeing. Sensors have to be replaced as it's a sealed unit.

Ah, thanks Dave. Seeing as mine is an '03 (2002 release) it seems like it's about time to do so.

TPMS problems
Mine is acting crazy too. I was getting zero reading on one of my fronts just before I had two new front tires mounted along with the refresh kits for the sensors. The installer reprogrammed it and it worked for about 3 miles then went to zero again. Any ideas?

You cant replace the batteries. You have to buy new TPMS units.
