Default Engine Codes - P0011 and P0021

i have a 07 350z had a check engine light. had a mechanic hook up his handheld and he said the code was for camshaft position sensor bank 1 (i think p0340).. so i had him replace both bank 1 & 2 sensor's and do a tune up and reprogram the idle and such on saturday.. got the car back saturday night and sunday morning the check engine light came back on.. took it to autozone now it has 2 codes p0011 and p0021. so i bring it back to the mechanic tuesday and he test the vvt solenoid said it worked, no debri, oil was full, oil was just changed. he told me it was the crank sensor so i had him replaced it picked up the car yesterday checked engine light back on tonight... not sure what codes again almost sure its the same... any help appreciated it!

Any news on your issues? I've got P0011 and P0021 also. I've change both cam sensors, changed VGT solenoids and still get a light. I'm leaning towards timing chain and/or bad tensioner. Ideas?

If what your saying about p0021 might be caused by a bad tensioner; that sort of makes sense.

I'm occasionally popping a p0021 code for no apparent reason other than my tensioner is ancient.

Lately I just flash the code and it goes away. Last time it flashed, I had nearly stalled out when someone pulled behind me as I was backing up. Right after it nearly stalled, it popped the p0021 light. I'm making the assumption that nearly stalling may have caused something to slip or miss. I had it flashed, and it hasn't come back on.

I'm reawaking this ancient thread. I FINALLY after 7 years of owning the car, figured out my issue. I bought the car with approx. 60,000 miles on it 7 years ago with these P0011 and P0021 engine codes. Today I finally needed to install a new clutch at 144,000 miles. Upon removing the flywheel, it was almost 180 degrees out from where the alignment pin was supposed to be. I installed a new flywheel with my clutch and installed it in the right orientation. I just took it for about a 25 mile test drive and stopped and restarted it in the middle of the drive and light seems to be staying off. Flywheel alignment pin in the wrong spot on the flywheel seemed to cause my Cam sensor codes! This is like a whole new car again....

Smile Did this completely solve your issue?

Did your light ever come back on? After replacing your flywheel back to the correct orientation? Any response would be deeply appreciated

No light. That was the issue. Previous owner had the flywheel installed wrong.
