Are all OEM REO40 tires on our Z's the same?

My REO40's have these markings on them E4 and I008. They are marked with the E4 on all 4 tires and they have the I008 markings only on the passenger side tires. How are your tires marked. My car was built in 5/03. Just wondering if they modified the tires to help solve the feathering problem???

yep, all RE040s

Looks like you are one of those guys that need more direction. Go out and look at your tires and see if they have the E4 and the I008 marking and if they do, on which tires. Then come back in and report your finding on this thread along with the build date on your G35.

I haven't looked at mine either, but keep in mind that our directional tires expose a different side on the passenger side, so I wouldn't be suprised if they just have slightly different imprints on the two sides.

The reason I started this thread is that some members stated that they thought the OEM tires had changed using a new compound that would wear better. They also stated that on new tires they had the E4 and I008 and that they did not have these marking on the original tires that feathered. Who knows I thought if some of the people that have had problems would look at their tires we might learn something. Guess I'm wrong. I have 2000 miles on my Z and so far my tires are great, hope I don't have the tire problem.

G35s don't come with Bridgestone tires of any ilk. No RE040s, No SO3s, no Bridgestone period. The 17" wheel cars come with a Goodyear "Z" rated All Season tire. I don't know the name. The 18" models come with Michelin Pilot Sports. Only "Zs" come with the RE040s.

"Gs" and "Zs" have the same sizes, however.

I feel like I must be speaking Chinese?? Lets see based on the responses I might as well tell everyone that my Landcruiser has BFG AT/KO's and I now have 40K miles on the current set and they are wearing evenly and I still have 10/16's of thread left. This post makes as much sense as 80% of the others I've gotten on this thread.

Pit Bull,

After reading the "responses" to your original post, I HAD to get up out of my chair, go check my tires, and hopefully restore your faith in humanity.

I have a build date of 01/03 and do not have the markings you're talking about. I have not tire/ride problems so far, but I also have extremely low mileage.

I was responding to your second post giving direction to themyst on his G35. If you don't like my answer, tuff. In the future, I'll stay away from your threads. Now, go eat your dog food in the back of that Landcuriser.

Lou, sorry if I misunderstood who you were responding too. Now that I reread your post I can see you were correcting the other poster. These threads are hard to keep on track, they seem to feather after a very short time :D

Apology accepted. Have a good day and a very Merry Christmas.
