Center Console Lid Won't Shut

My center console lid won't shut. I opened it yesterday and went to close it and it won't. It seems like the latch is just stuck in one place. I don't want to get a screwdriver and pry at it for fear I might break it. I've circled the latch I'm talking about in red in the following diagram:

Should I bring it to the dealership and have them fix it or what? Any help would be appreciated.

No, it doesn't close at all. I go to close the lid, and it just pops right back up because of the springs I guess...

I have a earlier series Z.So,my lid may differ.
Is there not an adjustment...slotted screw to move the latch closer
to the part that holds the lid down?

I'll have to check that in a bit. Where would that be located, like near the button side or near the trunk side?

I checked my car. There is no adjustment. So,the problem either has to
be the tab on the lid(has a recessed part that is catched by the latch
to keep the lid shut),this is doubtful.
Or,the latch assembly which has a spring that is compressed when you close the lid.
Can you PUSH IN THE latch?
Does the spring work/pops the latch back out?
If it does'nt work,I'd think the latch assembly needs replacement. Is
this part # 24860N?

As a fix for the time being, may want to attach some Velcro!
