Found out you can't weld Titanium...?
So I bought some nice 100% titanium burnt exhaust tips for my HKS replica exhaust because the tips they come with are horrible... I went to go spot weld it where the 2 side holes were and it ended up making a white burn on the outside of the exhaust tip where the blue is just about to meet the stainless. It is not a big spot but it is clearly visible and easily noticed on the blue surface =/. Would it be safe to use some Mother's polish on the tips to try to at least get the white oxidation out?

Titanium is supposed to be welded in vacuum or with shielding gas.
You can try to clean it but the weld probably will fail. I'm guessing you didn't do the correct prep either.

Yeah, generally if youre welding something small that is made out of titanium, you can put it in a sealed blasting cabin with a nozzle for Argon feed and a purge point up top. Purge all the air out so you have a pure Argon environment, then tig it out like stainless.

Im not going to try to weld it any further, just bolts now... but i want to try to clean that white oxidation off so its not so noticeable. The polish wont hurt the burnt blue stuff right? Also someone said to use 0000 steel wool before polishing it. But I dont want to ruin the burnt blue stuff.

i just bought ti tips to do the same, but they have one single set screw pre welded in on the bottom of each.. not easily visible and pretty simple. no welding necc, i thnk i paid 140 in total.. in case the ones you have are screwed now.
Angle cut and a bit longer than usual. gives some adjustability, and have a large blued area.

Those look exactly like the ones I just got and paid about the same... and they also have one nut welded to the bottom of each... but I wanted to just weld them in place instead of the one bolt because its a lot more secure and would have been very easy to do "if I knew how to do it" but now I have an ugly spot on the outside of one of my tips 
literally just got them out of the box and not even both on before I go and ruin one of them =/ I polished it a bit last night and it helped a little. Its still noticeable but only the size of a pencil eraser head id say. You live and you learn I guess :O It just really sucks that I bought them to dress up the look and make it clean... haha =/
