Help! my key won't turn

I have been driving my 06 Z for about a month and have had no problems turning the key to start it. I took it to the driving range today and after I finished the key would not turn. It is like it is the wrong key. Is there some sort of magic sequence to get this thing to turn? Please help. Thank you.

:icon18: That was my first thought. I remember a woman in one of my college classes asking me to help her out with her car. I drove her all the way across town and saw what she did. Man, that was some great sex. Oh, wait.

Try turning the wheel back and forth....

Your car is a 5AT?If so,could be in the shift linkage/knob position.
The initial thing that should be checked is the ignition lock mech.
Usually wiggling the steering wheel and turning the key at the same time will
allow the key to turn.Do you have a spare key?If so,try the other one.

Success

I have a 6-speed so I could not find park. I guess that means no sex. However wiggeling the wheel worked so thanks for the idea. I can drive again.

First car/new driver I'm guessing?

Guessing the same but then again, I felt it common sense to wiggle the wheel the first time my key wouldn't turn in my first car :dunno:

I accidentally my key at school once.. forgot about it then freaked out when I couldn't put it in the ignition, took me a few hours to remember what my dumbass did. Finals FTL.

Accidentally what?

You know, I hate to pile on Daxmann, but the advice to jiggle the steering wheel in order to remove resistance from the steering lock is in your owner’s manual. This phenomenon is pretty common with most cars where the key inserts into the side of the steering column. One exception is the new Aston Martin Vanquish; in this case an immaculately dressed butler discreetly appears and jiggles the wheel for you.
