Broken 350z air recirculation flap

Hello everyone,

Hopefully this isnt a first, hoping I can get some advice here.

Today i was tinkering around with the girlfriends 350z, replacing the battery tiedown and such.

I pulled a bit to hard on the air recirulation flap thinking it was removable and the female end snapped.

Anyone done this before? Advice? It seems that it was not designed to be replaced/removed/swapped so even if i purchased a replacement I would not be able to install it.

What do I do? Currently its left off so I guess the car is going to always be recirculating air and drawing in new air until its fixed.

Thanks in advance.

Hello?

I think this is affecting the blowing hot air. ie - bringing in too much cold air and not warming up as fast.

any thoughts people?

Here are the parts schematics from Courtesy Parts. It looks like the part may be available, but installation looks to be pretty difficult. You may even have to buy the complete blower unit.

HAHA, a year and a half before someone responded

So has the car been without the door for the last year and a half? Damn! I'd at least get some epoxy and screen door mesh to keep all the outside garbage out of the fan. That kind of plastic is a pain to glue up, but a small piano hinge and a pop rivet gun might do the trick if you want to fix it Sanford and Son style.

Stuff would get in the fan either way. That flap just changes it from recirculate to fresh air.

In fresh air mode (any time you turn the a/c compressor off) that flap will be open just like it's not in there.

There really is no need to have it there unless you're in a very hot climate.
