Default ? Regarding Camshaft Chain Tensioners - Catastrophic engine failure

While tearing down my motor this weekend I pulled off the camshaft chain tensioners and noticed some globs of brass where the oil feeds in. I had a catastrophic engine failure. Will my tensioners be safe to use on the new motor or should I get new ones? And where the hell do I buy camshaft chain tensioners if I do need them? All I can find are the timing chain tensioners.
