Rains get into the engine area!
Hi guys my Z has a carbon fiber hood with air vents and last week I was on the road and it suddenly rains like pouring, and I didn't put the anti-rain plastic back under the hood and of course water gets into my engine area and I think some water got suck into my intake! So lately when I fireup the car nothing wrong but after maybe half an hour my car will shuddle and mis-fire! I have mis-fire problem before and I change all six coil pads and lately my cylinder 2 mis-fire and I change a new coil... and today my car mis-fire again.. is it problem of water in the engine? How can I get water out? Or is it my ECU??? I did also install a new coil pad harness... weird.... anyone can give me some help?

There is no water in your engine. If any got in, it would have boiled out by now.
When you say half an hour, then a mis-fire - is that half an hour of driving, or half an hour of idling? |
So when it rains and my intake suck in some water it will boiled out by the heat in the engine is that right?? It won't have any problems???

Switch back to the stock airbox if you're worried. Or don't drive in the rain.

Check all spark plugs.

If you motor has not seized, its fine.
If you car is stalling, you should get a check engine light. Check the code, start there. |
this fread makes lulz
Pull your spark plugs and change them. Inspect them, you might have fouled the one in cylinder 2 why not put the rain gaurds on the hood and not worry about this?? lol |
