Hatch won't open - HELP!

Initially my hatch wouldn't close b/c the latch was not working. I've had this problem in the past and was able to solve the problem by fixing the actuator (https://my350z.com/forum/maintenance...ont-latch.html).

My hatch didn't latch yesterday so I started to take off the plastic pieces in the trunk to get to the actuator. As I was taking out some of the bolts to remove the metal bar that the actuator is bolted onto, I heard the latch activate. Thinking that something might have been lose and magically fallen back into place while taking things apart, I closed the hatch thinking it was good to go. Big mistake, b/c now the latch is closed, but the actuator probably is not working as it will not release the latch when the trunk button is pressed.

I tried to pull the emergency trunk release cord under the rear strut bar but nothing. :bang:

Does anyone have any other ideas on how I can pop the trunk open?

THANKS!!!!!!

The cord under the strut bar should work.. try again.

^^ Absolutely... If pulling the cord doesn't work, something is bent or significantly damaged. If that is the case, the repair is requires significant and expensive repair measures.
