03 350z won't run!
I have a 03 350 and I just recently had to change the head gaskets, and now it won't run now that it's all back together. But the car is fully built with the turbonetics st kit on it. With the turbo xs computer. I have heard vs things about the computer before, and it has left me stranded before. So I'm just wondering if I can get any advice from y'all on this.
And another side note , it has spark, fuel, and air. It does turn over, and we do not have the turbo hooked up. All we have is the filter on the end of the intake. So thanks in advance for any suggestions. |
the fuel pump itself maybe?
compression test? just throwing some ideas |
Spark, fuel, and air... the three basic things needed for a running engine.
If you're positive you have all three of those, is the timing correct? ECU correct? |
Did your head gasket leak some coolant?
I had a similar problem (one of my cylinder heads got warped). Turns out, too much coolant had already entered the block and combustion was simply impossible. We're in the process of putting back the whole engine together now. I would scan first for errors though. |
The compression test came up with 125-130 across the board. Now it does have lower compression pistons, so I imagine that is lower than stock. And the fuel pump kicks on, spark plugs are firing and the throttle body is open. So it's getting the 3 crucial things it needs. But does anyone know the firing order on it? We might have the wires swapped around the wrong way or something.

Sounds like you need a service manual.
I'm pretty sure the harnesses are laid out so that it's almost impossible to wire up the injectors and ignition incorrectly. Do you smell gasoline at the exhaust pipe when the engine turns over? |
I have a service manual, and the only wiring diagrams in it are junk. Unless you want to re-wire your interior, or wire up a starter other than that there is nothing good In the manual. And the harness doesn't lay out like you think it does. The number 4 and 6 cylinder will plug into each other. And I know it's getting fuel because we keep fouling plugs.

if they changed the head gaskets the timing belt was removed check and make sure the timing is correct that all marks line up.....
|
Yeah sounds like it's off timing.
No crank/cam sensor codes? |
Changed the cam sensors last night. Still didn't start.... So I'm tearing back into it and double checking everything.
|
Wet plugs?? Maybe it's getting too much fuel.
|
I'm pretty sure the cams got mixed up while it was getting put together. So it all boils down to ignition issues. I'm taking it apart tonight so I'll let y'all know what it is.
