Lack of power

Hey guys..

I have 2004 MT 350Z with greddy evo2 exhaust, headers, lightweight flywheel, jwt clutch, aem cold air intake and kinetix ssv intake manifold..

I bought the car with those mods on it .. But it feels a lack of power.. Like when i try racing my friend's stock 350z... I lose with a car in difference..
My garage told me that i should remove the kinetix manifold..

What do u think ? I know there's a lot of threads about this kinetix manifold.. But please any advice???

Does it have a tune?

Siwarhitti 11-28-2013 10:14 PM

No tune.. But is kinetix manifold worth doing a tune for it ?

do you know how to shift?

Siwarhitti 11-28-2013 11:24 PM

Seems like you have a funny way of asking for help.

Also seems like you can't drive. Those mods dont make a difference if he is better at shifting then you. :gotowned:

Does your friend have an 07-08 model? Get a baseline dyno to see what the car is making.

with all the mods (headers, intakes, manifold, exhaust) i would say you need a tune. those kinetix manifolds look cool but hear that they can actaully cause you to lose power

Get a tune or return the car to stock. Bolting on aftermarket parts alone does not make for a faster car.

Also, keep in mind that wheels, tires, weight of vehicle and occupants, and driver ability make more of a difference in performance than bolt-on breather mods. For example, if you have heavy aftermarket 19" wheels, poor traction, a subwoofer box, and you weigh 100 pounds more than your buddy, his car may still be faster even with a tune.

Also, please keep the childish "kiss my ..." comments out of here. There is no need for that. The post asking if you know how to shift is a valid question, since one driver being better at shifting than the other is the most probable reason behind a noticeable difference between two similar cars. There's no reason to get butthurt and act like an Internet tough guy.

With the intake and exhaust mods, I'm guessing you're running lean. Get it tuned.

I agree with everything Sparkles said (sarcasm mod is not sarcastic).

To add: no two cars are the exact same - identical year, trim and mods do not guarantee identical gains.

EDIT - some solutions may be even more simplistic:
Gas, air filter, spark plugs, tire pressure (etc.)...
Numerous "small" issues can create a large difference.
