OBD Trouble Code P2135

My car failed the emissions test today and a week ago the "Service Engine Soon" light started showing up whenever I started my car. I was planning on taking it in to get checked out, now I realize the problem is connected. The message that came through on the emissions inspection report was "Throttle Pedal Position Sensor/Switch "A" | "E" Voltage Correlation. the Trouble Code was P2135. Would this be remedied by replacing the Throttle body position sensor?
Thanks for your help!

You can download a service manual free (see stickies), and there's probably a suggested troubleshooting procedure for that trouble code in the manual.

I was getting that same code. It's the TPS. But you have to replace the whole throttle body. Mine would go on and off but when it would come back on my car would go into limp mode. With no throttle response.

There is exactly the same problem that a writer for "Blue Print" (an auto trade )magazine. I can't remember the exact details other than he encountered the P2135 and found that his problem started because there was a seal missing in one of the connecters and it was taking in damp/water. He got the seal fitted and then went through "the accelerator pedal released position learning" process. I'm just wondering if its worth your while trying this relearn process before spending $'s on buying & fitting a new TPS. If I can find this article I'll pm you with further details.

Mine had the same problem this weekend and I tracked down the code to P2135. Shortly after it went into the limp mode, it started working fine again but the service engine soon light was still on. Today, I cleared the code and all seems to be fine for now--at least the service engine soon light did not come back on. Is this a one-time thing or should I order a throttle body?
