after air bag deployment to-do list?

I had a side (ie seat) and curtain air bag deployment. Planning to send the control module away to have code(s) cleared. Been led to believe that a clean module can instantly fail again if there are still unresolved problems with the SRS system. So I'm guessing I'll need to replace whatever sensor(s) were activated. What else?

Do I NEED to replace the airbags too in order to not trigger control module?
I plan on replacing the 2 blown airbags eventually, but it would be nice to have airbag functionality everywhere else in the meantime, and Nissan tech told me entire SRS system shuts down when control unit registers deployment.

At minimum I don't want to pay to have module reset multiple times, so trying to get some understanding of which scenarios wil lead to a non-clearable code (ie will a fresh module detect previously deployed bags that haven't been replaced and lock out?)

Seat belt retractors also need to be replaced. The whole operation is quite $$$. The clock spring, too, in the steering wheel. I'm not home, or I'd pull my invoice for you from when mine was done. My front bumper got side-swiped and the car suffered almost no other damage, but the airbag stuff was ~$5k.
