Default 350z performance woes

Well, recently I replaced my cheap test pipes with kinetix high flow cats. All was good, but it feels a lot slower for some reason. Is this even possible? I can't think of a logical reason why there'd be a dramatic difference especially considering they're HFC. i started to hear rattling and it turned out to be the heat shields making contact with the HFCs, so I removed them as well. heat soak issue bc of heat shield removal or just my car having a few bad days? I'd appreciate any input. I tried doing research but couldn't find much. Any suggestions?

thank you

lol, yeah I don't have a choice although I'd like to know why my car feels so sluggish. I probably just need to do the obvious and go get a tune, something is definitely not right.

you added restriction, so yeah you will get a little loss of power.

also, keep your eye on the kinetix... i had some that cracked on me. when i called them about the lifetime warranty, they told me to send it in and they would weld it and send it back. i told them i wanted a new one, and for them to send it and i would send broken one back once it was off... they wouldnt. then they told me that i would be cheaper for me to take it to local muffler shop and have them weld it, vs shipping. needless to say, they were off my car and replaced with ART pipes within 2 weeks

yes about the power, but it feels sluggish at certain RPMs rather than just a loss of a few HP (I doubt I'd notice anyways..) so I think it's something with needing a tune. And yeah I've read good and bad about the kinetix HFC. I went with them over my other choices. I am moving to Las Vegas and I didn't feel like messing around with emissions and such so I got HFC. I will say this, while the HFC are not as loud as the unresonated test pipes , it sure does sound a lot better and the 5 check engine codes I was throwing (since I put on my test pipes) have gone away as well!

Did the exhaust tone change?
That's probably what you're noticing. Louder exhaust makes the car "sound" faster

Yeah the tone sounds "crisp" and deeper. Much healthier sounding. But no the car is actually sluggish. I'm guessing due to needing a tune.

Ask for a "reflash". Mine was 1/2 the price of a full tune.

did you notice any difference with the reflash in terms of performance?

Turns out I needed a tune. Jon at Z1 hooked me up, my car was apparently going into limp mode or something of that sort. Car runs better than ever now!

thanks everyone.
