Radiator Recommendations

Hello All,

Just picked up a 2007 350z Roadster GT 6MT.

Radiator is leaking from the top. Looking for recommendations on quality radiator replacements.

Thanks

what are your plans for the car?

I used a Koyo one. Pretty affordable and fit pretty well. Its a twice as thick but the tanks are the same-ish size. So it fit no problem.

Not looking to do anything crazy in modifications. Car is stock. I picked it up from a 48 year old guy who bought it off lease years ago. I never owned one before. I really like the car!
Just looking for a decent quality radiator to replace what I am assuming is the original stock plastic radiator.

Thanks

Also its just a weekend car not a daily driver.

OEM from Nissan?

OEM=Original equipment manufacturer

So yes, from Nissan

Aren't the ones from Nissan double the all aluminum Mishimotos?

No, OEM from Ford.

If you already decided on Mishimoto, why ask for opinions and waste people’s time??

The Mishimotos radiators have good reviews for function. If you install this radiator in a 350z, you will need some fabrication experience because it is not a simple "drop-in."

Please explain as i am going this route myself!

Google this radiator for additional and installation information. Owners like this radiator, but it requires minor fabrication when installing in a 350z. It is not a big deal, but you will need to do some modification on the attachment brackets and screw-holes.

If you want a simple "drop-in," go with the OEM radiator.

Koyo was drop in. But its more pricey

The closer you get to a "drop in," the more $$'s you pay. That is simply because a "drop-in" is a more-dedicated product that is less universal, and therefore, more expensive. The OEM radiator costs more, is much easily installed, and works great. I would not install anything other than the OEM radiator. It is a very good radiator and fits perfectly in the 350z.

Hadn't really decided on anything just hoping to get feed back on maybe some OEM spec aftermarket company. Rock Auto sells 6 different manufacturers in the $100 range (compared to $600 Nissan OEM). I dont have experience with any of those manufacturers on Rock Auto. I figured such a large forum would have some experience and could share their experience with so many different brands.

Thanks for the warm welcome MicVelo

Sorry, my bad.... just got done reading three other posts by new “drop-in” members - the kinds that come in, ask time wasting questions that never come back for the answers people give. Makes me angry that so many monosyllabic FB types do this. Didn’t mean to single you out, you just got caught at the peak of my ire.

But yeah, it’s no wonder to me that so many of the people who used to make great contributions to this forum no longer do.

I initially wanted to go with a Mishimoto as well. But my installer told me Koyo would be the easier to replace the OEM with, but you if you're AT like me you'd need the additional transcooler as well. No big deal for me, since I'm getting everything replaced. And you can probably locate parts easier for this car on Z1 or Concept Z Performance.
