HELP!!! I'm slipping

Check this out guys 55 - 65 mph on the freeway and out of no where SLIP light blinks and I can't accelerate. Took it to the dealer and they contacted Nissan. After one week they came back and said that it is due to my 19's. I have 19/35/235 F and 19/30/265 R. I called Nissan and again they told me that they can not help me because I have 19's on the car and that this is why the VCD is kicking in and stopping the car from accelerating.

what am I doing wrong here guys need help

Does it do this every time or just once? Many other Z owners have replaced with 19" tires.

I don't have the reference to the percentage circumference difference between your front/rear tires when compared with the stock 17's or 18's but there was some concern expressed on this board earlier about the VDC kicking in if replacement tire f/r ratio differed from stock.

It looks like your rear tire diameter is actually smaller (by .1 in.) that your front tire. You need to use a larger diameter tire on the rear. VDC needs this stagger in size. Stock 18" tires have the following diameters: front 25.9' rear 26.6". You currently have 25.5" fr and 25.4" rear. Hope this helps.

This is also happening to me. I had my front tires replaced b/c of feathering and my back tires are BALD.

Nissan recommends a tire size difference of .5" to .75" between the two tires (with the back tires being bigger). Currently your back tires are smaller... tricking the vdc into thinking that your back tires are slipping.

get some bigger tires in the back.

Something like 275/35/19 would work great.

I'm getting the same problem right now, I don't know either. When I turn off the TCS nothing happens after that, I have 19x8.5 in the front and 19x9.5 in the rear and it is still slipping. The tires are 245/35 in front and 275/35 in the rear.

TCS

Just changed tires to all 4 the same size on my Z that I use for a daily driver. This took alot of the understeer out. 245/45 x 17's. SLIP light and TCS kicks in now more often and on sweepers where is did not before. How do you rig the TCS system to stay off at start up and not reset to on everytime the car is restarted? I am ready to unplug the sensor wire on the differential. Will this cause a "trouble " light? I want to drive myself without help. This car reminds me of the government protecting me from myself. Or is it Nissan Protecting themselves from getting sued when some beginner gets in over his head and stuffs one of these cars in a ditch. Because, if the TCS is found to be off when the car is recovered, then Nissan is off the hook? We all know that what ever happens it's somebody elses fault these days right?:icon16:
