because near as I can tell..the only car he thinks looks good is his...

His car may track better..but I garauntee I'd crush him at a HIN show.

The whole car at one time. The picture of the front end must be off from the lighting which sucked.........I hope.........I never noticed any difference before. :(

For example, he is one of the pics I took and it appears the color changes mid way up the front fender. You got me all freaked B! :icon38:

i remember u had a full repaint so i was kinda like hmmf.. but u can see that the metal flake on ur bumper is diff than on the fenders. the fenders look to have a more pearly effect on them, even some green pearl possibly..

thats the spot where all the color matches go bad on silver Zs, even the good ones. im starting to think that that area of the Z is just impossible to get to look the same with the silvers...

do u know what brand and line of paint from that brand they used on ur car?

i hope u dont mind me talkin about this stuff, it doesnt devalue ur car in anyway its a sweet Z.

Yes, that was the one that got me wondering also. I'll have to find out from the shop. I don't mind at all. You bet I'll be studying that paint job tonight though. The HIN photos are the only ones that I have ever seen that show a difference like that. That's why I posted the pic above cause it shows a difference in shade also but starting mid fender. :confused:

yea i wouldnt worry too much. but i can guarentee you the reason u havent seen it before in any of ur pics was because "all the ones ive seen" have been outside in the daylight and sun. where the metal flake tends to take over, hence why all the silver Zs. even with mismatches paintjobs look pretty good in the bright sunlight shots, and get nailed in the side cast ones. the shop did a good job with ur kit and im beginning to think that the silver on the Z is just really finiky.

i wouldnt also be surprised if they used ppg dbu line paint and blended certain areas on the car. i doubt they sanded down the entire thing after ur accident and reshot every single inch of every panel with paint and clear, typically they blend.

Good point. I'll have to check it out in the garage lighting. The problem is I'm a friggin' perfectionist when it comes to this car and it'll drive me nuts.

Rofles. THen i suggest you have the entire car sanded down, primed, and painted cayanne silver :D i really wnana do that with mine hehe. It could be potentially impossible to get it all matched up at this point.

The paint on Z's is just a PITA to match period. :)

I was actually considering to repaint it black next year. Oh well, it never ends. :icon11: I guess it's a good thing I live in the "sunshine state." :icon38:

If I see another Z with this bumper I think I am going to wind up killing myself accidentally due to starvation. I can't stop puking......I am on dry heaves now.... I bet they're great in the winter though.
