stan Dec 18, 2006 02:41 PM

agreed. its not really a show car IMO. i dont know the full list of mods but he just dynoed 312 awhp (the sti badge is just that, its actually a wrx).

eat rice z33 Dec 18, 2006 02:41 PM

yeah he needs another 50k into it. lol

joegengsta Dec 18, 2006 03:08 PM

meh.. it's okay, i see the ebay special intercooler/catch can ;)

haha, reminds me of old sti, but tons slower (rofl, jk.. but not really)

DaveZ06 Dec 18, 2006 03:23 PM

nice car but it's nowhere near a showcar nor speed... buy a wide body kit w/ a custom paint and sexier rims, then maybe you can pull it off with just exterior pics

getting into a magazine seems like 90% "who you know" and how connected you are.. you'd have to be very lucky to get in if you are a random outsider..or a $100K wrx would help too lol.. but if you spend $100K on your car--you eventually know people in the industry anyways ;)

Not really. A lot of it has to do with photographers or editors running into random people at shows.

As far as the photos, they're just snapshots in a parking lot. More thought needs to be put into the location.

.

aren't photograhers part of the industry? I recently met up with a guy that is a connected photographer.. now suddenly I'm in 3 magazines and a DVD lol.. ridiculous bias IMHO..

I agree with Leemik... you can have a stock wrx and get into a mag if your well connected or have a family member/best friend in with a zine company. In the end... the people you know will get you to places

deezz Dec 18, 2006 05:01 PM

your post makes it sound like you have to know the photographer or someone in a mag to get into. most of articles that you see are random people that they've run into at various events.

i've done freelance work for Modified Mag and people come to me thinking I can get them in the mag. It's really up to the editors to choose what cars they want to run. photographers don't have that much sway in the decision, they're just a way for people to submit their photos and info.

Nice pics...but I agree on more work if he wants to have a full feature.

Sports Compact Car : roll-cage, lightweight parts, a swap

Modified Mag: Show quality paintjob, lots of money or industry backed.

All and all, it has to have something that puts itself apart from all the other modified cars on the street. Even as just a filler article to advertise car parts, it has to be loaded and clean.
