Computer 350Z's

Soooo.

Any interesting 3d models out there? Let's see 'em.

Here's a model from the free game "Racer"

It can be found here.

Some modified versions are also out there...

are the actual model files available for download?

i.e. the 3D Studio Max files (or whatever format they used...)

No but if you e-mail this Stecki guy that made it he might send it to you. I think you can decompile and convert the models with the game's included tools too.

I'm trying my hand at a custom 350Z now.
It's in the early early stages but here's what I have so far...

they are made in maya and exported using some sort of plug in to make them .dof format. you can make a model in Maya and export it into the game, but i have no idea how to IMPORT a dof file into maya. i emailed him a while ago when i first found this, and i got the mail sent back saying the box was full (rerouted hotmail account). so no luck. :( i could make a sick racing animation scene if i had those models to manipulate. if anyone wants to help me find out how to import them in to maya, feel free to PM me. i have Maya 4.0.

I might be able to get the info for you.
Hey do you think you'd be able to make some bodykits from the model if you had it in Maya?

Yeah I am also looking for a 3D mesh of the 350Z. I'm actually a lightwave user, and have started modeling one following a tuturial on the newtek site.

350z tut on newtek
Until now I'm not to happy with the result as I can not get it look as good as in the tutorial.

I have also found some good looking models on turbosquid but I'm not willing to pay so much money on a 3D model only to play around a little (This doesn't apply to the real Z:D )
turbosquid site

When, or if I finish the 3D model I will share it with the community here.
