Tight work sonnnnn

When you paint the calipers without masking the rubber gaskets, won't that corrode them? Nice finished product, thought.
|
I hope you plan on rebuilding those calipers before installing them
or installing the Flintsones removable floorboard panel |

If only it were that simple/easy to repaint calipers.

Not sure about corrosion (if anything paint should slow corrosion), but I would think all moving parts and rubber parts should be masked off and free of paint.
it wont have anything to do with corrosion and to answer your question better about moving and rubber parts, eproxy paint was used. Simple statement = paint that is able to flex so it wont ship or flake. Q: Now why was the rubber painted ? A: Personal preference i like the whole blend of orange and clean look rather than leaving the rubber black. Q: Can it be removed so paint dosnt get on it? A: Yes it can , but like i said personal preference and thats how i wanted it to turn out. |
You wanted to paint the rubber seals on the inside of the calipers orange, where the pads go? Because you prefer how that looks?
Do yourself a favor - order a caliper rebuild kit and do it correctly, because this has disaster written all over it Sure you can remove the paint now- with thinner. Which will also remove the paint from the caliper (and damage the pistons and seals) |

This thread has gone downward to...Fail
|
you could of at least taped off the bleeder nipple covers, now they look FAKE
|
Looks nice but you messed up man. The paint may flex but have you considered the chemical reaction that can occur between rubber and paint?
As Z1 says, time to rebuild. |
Great idea, wrong execution, there's a reason why the there's no paint on certain areas of the calipers in the first place. I would advise you NOT to reinstall these until you've done it properly.
|
I thought masking tape was used in the paint industry **rolling eyes**. Looks good .
|
Well they look nice.
