Well, this is a very sad post for me, but it has to be done. Over the weekend on my way up to Wekfest I got hit by a semi truck into the side wall. He tried passing me in the rain and clipped my rear on the drivers side. The impact was pretty hard and I shot back across traffic and ended up perpendicular to the flow of traffic. Thank God I didn't get t-boned as visibility was pretty bad.

In the big scheme of things, a car is a car and I am just thankful that I am alive, but it does hurt to see something that you have worked so hard to build just smashed like this. Insurance told me today that it looks like it is going to be a total loss. In talking to my adjuster, she said that I can go after the other company for the total value of my car, this would include my aftermarket parts. I collected about 90% of my receipts...lol, wow, almost $19,000 not including labor. That is just crazy. I'll go to court and act like a straight monkey before I take this in the behind. On a serious note, it looks good so far, I have everything filed with my insurance and CHP. The truck driver didnt even report it to his company.

I'm not sure if I will by the car as a salvage and work on it. I'm really up in the air rigt now on what I want to do next. There might be a part out, but not too sure. As for my next car, I know I have always wanted a Supra, but we will see. For now I have the FX and will just have to do without a sports car for a short time. I'll still be around.....Thanks everyone for everything.

Glad to read that you survived such a crash, especially with a hauler involved. Yes, I used the word hauler. :D

I would suggest showing all your hi-res pics of the intact Z to your adjuster to impress upon the insurance company the severity of the situation.

I know a person who got into a bad accident because of a trucking company's bad business practice. She got a huge settlement from them, partly because she got hurt pretty badly.

I hope you seek physical therapy, because I'm sure your muscles clenched up enough to throw all your joints out of whack.

Let me know if your going to part your headlights, i got first dibs. I got 06+ my self, just want to play with salvaged headlights to see what i can make out of them internally. Dont really care for the condition etc. lmk and once again sorry to see a beautifull tastefully modded z go down.
