Thats exactly why the bypass is there. Open that and its basically open header.

And yes that the Ultra Racing brace I mentioned in a different thread the other day. This is the link I ordered from. Don't worry that the locate says Malaysia, they are all overseas... It took me about 2 weeks to get after I ordered

If you would please take some good pics side by side of the braces and compare for rigidity please. I have been looking at that same brace for about 3 months now and getting ready to make the purchase but a state side review would be nice before I do. My brace has enough damage on it that I can't drop the brace to replace the subframe bushing untill i cut/grind around half of the bolts since the metal is bent in from the car bottoming out. Its been this way since I bought it. Thanks in advance.

Does the brace seem more rigid than the OEM? It does look alot better!

yes it looks better

when both where on the floor in your picture did one have less height , and or was a lower profile assembly ?

which hangs lower on the car ?

also the after market one uses 10 fasteners , how many fasteners does the oem one use?

does the aftermarket one use the oem fasteners or brings its own fasteners?

The Oem one was definitely more flimsy than the Ultra Racing one.

Unfortunately, the OEM does have a slightly low profile than the UR one. But I have already bottomed out the UR brace once and I was worried it was going to destroy it. I can't even tell where it has hit the ground so its holding up very well.

It uses the same mounting holes and bolts as the OEM one. Both have 10 bolts.

Well....crappy day. Lifted off the wrap on the hatch to repair an area and learned that whoever repainted the hatch after removing the emblems did an awful job. A significant amount of paint near the oem emblem locations peeled off with the vinyl. So now I have to go get that resprayed. Also ran out of vinyl doing the hood today. That combined with the frustration of the hatch made my decision clear. The car is going back to silver. I'll plastidip the car if I ever want to change the color again. So, here's a picture to remember the brown phase, the damage and the temporary fix to keep it unexposed til paint.

Still debating what I want to do as paint will cost just as much as covering the rest of the car...

Budgeted about $450 for doing the wrap myself. Was going to wind up being at least $700 plus reprinting costs so about $1000. Think I'd rather just cut my losses at this point in time, although painting the rear hatch will cost the same as finishing the vinyl...
