pyshin's Progress Thread

I ended my Independence Day Weekend in Vegas this year with a small road trip to Mossy Escondido in Northern San Diego to pick up my Z. It was a 2008 Silver Alloy Base with 43k mileage, one local previous owner, clean Carfax, and Nissan CPO (Certified Pre-Owned). To get it to CPO status they did all maintenance necessary (including a brand new cd009 transmission) less than a month before I picked it up.

Here's the 1st picture I took after leaving the dealership:

Needless to say I fell in love.

Since July I have done minor mods to keep myself occupied while saving up for quality suspension components and coils:

-K&N drop-in filters
-Aspec aluminum shift knob
-Shorty antennae

-3M Matte Black roof vinyl

-'Custom' single-exit exhaust (got plenty of flame for this, will be replacing with a true mandrel-bent Y-pipe back unit eventually)

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7342/1...aa4113f0_c.jpg
http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3782/1...12493abf_c.jpg

-Bumper tuck
http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2862/1...8bfbfc0e_c.jpg

-GTSpec rear lower tie brace (Thanks Nismonian)
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7442/1...c2a457d1_c.jpg

-3M brushed black metallic interior trim vinyl and rear fender roll (thanks John)

http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3761/1...ed9b1a82_c.jpg
http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2892/1...372a0373_c.jpg

-K23 paint-matched rear wiper delete (thanks Mike)

(don't mind the shadow, took these pics ~10am)
http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5473/1...66d882ef_c.jpg
http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2816/1...faaa8ac4_c.jpg

-Front bumper grille delete
http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3799/1...26d25191_c.jpg
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7336/1...79451014_c.jpg

-JDM clear corner reflectors
http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3691/1...66ef856b_c.jpg

-Z1 silicone post-MAF hoses
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7434/1...6773afb9_c.jpg

-Hayden PS Cooler (will be modified/moved when I install an oil cooler)

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7321/1...a284d1df_c.jpg

-I also had the good fortune of purchasing SBC Enkei RPF1's (18x10.5 +15 square) wrapped in Sumitomo HTRIII's (275/35 f and 275/40 r) held to my Z with Silver Project Kics R40 open-ended lugs (thanks to Matt)

Over the past couple months I've hunted for quality suspension parts and gathered these gems:

-SPL TITANIUM rear camber links
http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2849/1...a34c4dd8_c.jpg

-SPL TITANIUM rear toe links and SPL eccentric lockout kit (thanks Kushtech)
http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5514/1...38e68638_c.jpg

-SPL V1 front upper control arms (thanks Jason)
http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5485/1...ed2dff4e_c.jpg

And finally, the Stance Pro Comp 2-way adjustable coil system (thanks Adam @ RCA)
http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5544/1...663f4fba_c.jpg

With the 4-8 week lead time after completing payment the beginning of this month, I am currently waiting for this system to arrive in January so that I can install everything and get a proper alignment. Hopefully I will upgrade to Motons or Ohlins down the road.

And this is how my Z sits today
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7394/1...4d31ed39_c.jpg

My goal for my Z is what many enthusiasts want... A semi-built NA car that can handle itself well on a track, plain and simple.

I hope to keep this thread updated as much as possible, thanks for looking.

-Peter

Awesome job, very impressed with the attention to detail.

I love the way the single exhaust looks with the bumper tuck! Keep up the good work, the car should look and ride much better with all those new suspension pieces.

Thanks Mike, nothing compared to your beautiful build but I appreciate the compliment nonetheless.

Thanks I love the exhaust as well especially the sound and the tuck along with the GTSpec brace complement it well imho, but I will get a true mandrel-bent pipe eventually and keep it the natural ss finish.

I apologize for these long quoted responses, but honestly this forum has been crucial in many ways with my progress so I'll take time to reply to anyone I can.

Currently waiting for the coils and fighting my mod bug... Christmas gifts for friends and family have drained most of my disposable income, I'm sure many can relate :icon14:

The next major update will be when my coils come in January :icon38:

The struggle is real.

Amazing, but incredibly loud under WOT. The Spintech low-profile chambered muffler is a little farther back than where the stock resonator would be, and that along with stock cats are the only things taming the sound. I've gotten compliments from people who have heard it in person, but I will be purchasing a Motordyne XYZ with resonator down the road the replace the stock HR Y-pipe, their HQ is an hour away from where I live.
