Who's gonna go AutoX'n with me August 16th, Pennington Field, in Bedford, TX.....

Pennington field location is an awesome spot, no poles or anything, restrooms are near by, so its great for spectators and family....ill be out there again with my canopy and chairs, so it will be cake....

IF YOU HAVE NEVER AUTOX BEFORE, THIS IS THE SPOT TO TRY IT!!!
Safe location, good for family/kids since restrooms are 25 yards away at the football field stadium. Mcdonalds/subway/etc across the street.

Registration Information

The Pennington Field site is a stadium parking lot that has a concrete surface. Courses lap times on this site average between 40 and 60 seconds. Most events have 4 runs per driver. The Texas Region uses all the National approved classes and the supplemental classes also. Quite working mufflers are required as there are apartments next to this site.

$40 - if you dont have an SCCA member.

PRE-PREP - Before leaving home
* Clean your car out thoroughly, this includes glove boxes and pockets.

* Your car will need to pass a TECH (Safety) inspection before you are allowed to compete. Your battery must be properly secured (not sliding around in its tray), all tires must have a measurable amount of tread (no cord showing) and the car can not be leaking fluids.

* If you have a Helmet bring if it is a SNELL SA95 or M95 or better rating. If you don't have a helmet, don't worry, a few loaners are available. (BRING A Handkerchief since the helmets are old)

You will be in the sun/rain for the full day, so come prepared for it. Comfortable clothes and covered shoes are a must.
BRING AN UMBRELLA.

Food is usually available near the sites we frequent, however you will probably want to pack a lunch and plenty of water.

FAQ:
DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING SPECIAL TO MY CAR TO PARTICIPATE???

NO, stock form no mods at all all you need....like the day you bought it, with NOTHING in the car....they will make you remove everything that is loose.....

A lot of people tell me they don't wanna come because they don't have anything done to their car.........you don't need anything, just come and enjoy the car........

Blue tape is good if you wanna tape up your bumper corners to protect against hitting cones.......

Also, you can use blue tape to identify your car and classification.....I use white laminated paper and mark on it with dry erase markers. I have dry erase markers i will bring, so bring some plain paper, or go get some laminated and they will last you forever...

DO THEY HAVE A BREAK FOR LUNCH?

NO, the event doesnt shut down for lunch, in between runs or what not you have to run and go get lunch or have a lunch packed already at the site.

Now, Pennington field is nice, because across the street is a McDonalds and not to far is a subway, along with a few others within a half mile.

What's the best thing to do helmet wise? Not sure what I should do there. Also, I told a couple friends about it, as well as posted it to DFW people on the FX board.

best thing to do is bring a helmet...............

if not you can borrow one there.....they have some.....

dammn it, you better make some arrangements..........

You can leave as soon as your run group is done......so i know people to be done with everything by 11 am, but there is no way of telling until that day and you see how many run groups and what time they are at...

but best to plan to stay and enjoy the day.........I'm gonna have a pop up canopy like the one pictured and if anyone else has one then we should get out there early and set up a money spot for viewing and pit for the cars..
