I fixed the photos issues on my thread, sorry for the inconvenience, hope you all are doing well with you're 350's I no longer have my Orange one. I traded it for a 2013 370Z (which I love btw) and highly recommend. If I can help with thread questions shoot me a message, I will try and log in now and again.

    Hi there -

I'm the owner of a 2005 roadster that has developed an issue with the roof not fully closing. All my research on the points to a problem with the 5th bow motor, and your post seems to be the authority on how to fix it! Issue is your photos don't seem to be available anymore? I appreciate that it's been a while since your original post, but I don't suppose you happen to still have those photos to hand?

Thanks - If not for the photos just for the hope that I might not have to drop 2k at a dealership!

    Kind Regards,

    Neil Saunders

First, thanks for 5th bow DIY. I replaced the brushes in my 5th bow motor and the motor worked fine. One problem; the driver side 5th bow roof hydraulic strut snapped!!! I was wondering if you could tell me how you were able to replace it. I found a strut but I can't seem to devise a way to replace it without taking the top off. Any advice will help. Thanks in advance!

BB- I know you have been getting severe kudos for the 5th bow motor issue. You saved me a bundle too! After five attempts of trial and error with disassembly and re-assembly of the motor with your expert tutelage, I tried filing down the new brushes about 2 millimeters and presto! It sounds like a new motor and operates as such. Thanks man- you rock!

LEDs won't be affected at all. Snip the blue wire and it'll prevent the turn signal light from being on all the time (which it shouldn't). The turn signal bulb will still turn on when you apply your turn signals just wont be on all the time. Everything else should work as expected.

Hmmm, good question and sorry for the delay, I haven't been on in a while.

I didn't use any lube or grease on mine as I didn't clean that part. I am assuming you are talking about the spindle. There was sufficient grease already on it and I didn't have any to hand. Sorry I couldn't be more help on that, a general purpose grease designed for cars should do the trick, as it doesn't have to withstand any kind of high temperatures.

I'm glad my tutorial has saved yet another Zee owner some money!!! If you think of anything else do write.
