Life's in the Details :)

While I'm sure most people here are content with spending $100 bucks on stuff that starts with a Z ..

Here is a thread that shows how cheaper alternitives can produce great results.

... BTW .. Kelly has witnessed the power of Meguiar's show glaze..

Results you see decieving they are. Shine yes, but much greater the effort required hmmm.

So when is mine going to see some of this amazing MG stuff ...

manofsteele2003 May 12, 2005 07:44 PM

True, I used to be a Meguairs fan and I still am just not for my Z. Meguiars just doesn't have durability, a week or two later and the wax was gone.

mdracer76 May 12, 2005 08:33 PM

manofsteele2003.. your next mod should be a garage :) As far as longevity, I've never noticed it prematurley wearing out.. but then my Z does not see rain ... or a cloudy day.

Juan.. this weekend is a bit of a bust.. but I'm sure that we can soon ;) Get your butt over to me casa. :)

valdeztke May 13, 2005 02:37 AM

Well my Z doesnt see rain, a cloudy day .. only wipe downs with tire rags, high school brush-a-thons, and my hobby knife sliding down the side of the car, oh not to mention scrubbing off adhesive with a scrubby pad from the kitchen covered in bathroom cleaner.....Oh when am I going to learn :(

manofsteele2003 May 13, 2005 04:48 AM

My Z already has a garage and it doesn't see rain or a cloudy day either but I it still didn't last.
I think that the $86 Zaino kit that has everything you'll need would probably last for a couple years depending on how often you apply it. But if you are like me and many others who like to keep putting coats on it can cost a bit more. It think it's well worth it. Just my $.02

What's up Man of steele?

Mike is Meguiar's Sponsored. He is just doing his job.

I've used Meguiar' gold glass on my wife's truck (blk) and the finish is amazing. Best pep boys/autozone type prodcut I have seen.

Never tried Zaino but after two yrs of hearing Dr. Bonz and others praise it I may have to give it a try. My wife is going to kill me though. I can usually get meguiar's at target on clearance for $3. $86 ..... I know I will hear about that one :D

I have to admit, that Glaze is some good stuff. Of course, I should mention that we put two coats of Zaino on top of it prior to the Falls Church H.S. Show. I noticed that I still have some issues to work out on my hood. Not sure where to go with that....

pdjafari May 13, 2005 07:39 AM

I picked up the NXT after all they 'hype' and i truly think its overrated...i was expecting a mirror shine like no other but I got just decent shine....zaino!!

mdracer76 May 13, 2005 08:19 AM

Well.. I definatly did not start this thread to make a Zaino V <insert your brand here> war. I believe that most products out there if properly applied over time will give you great results.

:)

+1. I used to be a Zymol advocate with my RX-7 (also red), and it did great stuff for that paint even though the car was 6 or 7 years old. It seems that most polishes and waxes will do the trick, it all comes down to personal preference.
