ok now i'm mad...

damn scam artists... even though i never accepted the "sponsorships" from carsponshorships.com they still charged me... those of you that did get charged what did you end up doing? am i just completely screwed or was there something that I can do to get my money back?

mdracer76 Jun 17, 2005 05:19 AM

Call your bank and file a chrageback against them. Your bank will get the money back into your account... eventually.

MrKaira Jun 17, 2005 05:23 AM

does that work? or will those sneaky bastards find some way to get around that?

rxtrom Jun 17, 2005 05:26 AM

It will work. If you keep putting it off it won't

MrKaira Jun 17, 2005 05:30 AM

ok, i will do that this afternoon, i have to go to class in a few minutes, but what information will i need to give them? just that its a fraudulent charge and then they'll put it back in my account? basically what will be the run down of the call?

Be prepared to tell them the name of the company as it appears on your statement, and that you were charged for a product you didn't receive. They'll walk you through the process from there.

Make sure that your bank knows that you declined the services provided, and they charged you anyways. Let them know that after doing some research that you found that this company is fraudulent. They can then issue a charge back.

should I call or go in? there is a branch nearby... also call the national # or just the local branch?

mdracer76 Jun 17, 2005 06:09 AM

you should just be able to call.. but sometimes its nice to see the person your talking to. If it were me, and I was close to my bank.. I'd just go in.

MrKaira Jun 21, 2005 10:27 AM

ok i called and they are gonna send me some paperwork to send back to them, so my only question is has this been proven before with this site? or something very similar to this situation?

Depends upon your CC company. I had a situation where I was charged a couple thousand for auto repairs. Although I acknowledged that the charges occurred with my authorization, my complaint over five months later (after I had delivered the car for repairs) that services still were not rendered to completion got my CC company to reverse the charges for me.

Your situation sounds more like fraud to me. You shouldn't have a problem with this charge back.
