I had a cop pull me over because I was visibly above the speed limit (45 in a 35) He wasn't running radar or anything, and he basically yelled at me from his car. "Nice car, but slow down"

I'm going to have a new graphic cut ou that says,
"If I pass you on the RIGHT,
You are in the WRONG lane."

or invest some money in a good detector/descrambler like the k2?
Robbie or anyone else can you guys chime in with your thoughts and experience with the "high end" detectors and descramblers

...i tried telling the cop that- he wasn't amused. Then the fukr wrote down that I was driving a Mitsubishi- when he handed me the ticket I told him that I was driving a Mercedes Benz, not a Mitsubishi and asked him to change it on the ticket before i signed. I could tell it was going to suck from the minute he pulled me over and started talking to me from his car megaphone.

I have a high end radar detector, like lord zed says... if you get hit with lazer it's kindof like being shot- no avoiding it. I have noticed the higher end ones do cool things like remember where the k band's are on grocery stores and block them out so you don't have to hear it every time you drive by, they also have proximity sensors to tell you how far away the copper is, and settings for long trips to make sure you don't fall asleep. They'll also let you know when a firetruck or ambulance is close too.

Im not gonna bad mouth the cop. I know I was speeding and I did not make excuses.
I told him I drank a good amount the night before and on my way home so I can catch my 8am tee time at Hampshire greens.
So he wrote me a quick ticket for wreckless, took a breathalizer test (blew 0.04)
He said just come to court and he will tell the judge that I was being very polite the entire time and that there was no traffic in the morning and I did not put anyone in danger. That way the sentencing will not be too harsh, maybe just a good amount in fines.
I was suprised how nice the cop was. I guess its always good to be polite to your police officer and have great respect for their job.
Either way, I HATE driving in VA

FYI ... Virginia does NOT have PBJ (probation before judgement). The only time the judge is lenient is if you have a clean record and you're only doing 10-20 over the speed limit.
From my experience VA judges don't care much for out of state offenders. My first ticket ever happened in VA (60 in a 45). I had a maryland drivers license at the time. I went to court to fight it. I told the judge that I've been driving for 6 years and never got a ticket. Judge: "that's still not an excuse to speed, pay the fine."

I have a V1, best thing I ever spent my money on. Saved me 10-15 times. Cops usually use radar on the highways unless you're on a small road where they can snipe you easily. Other than that, 95% of your encounters will all be radar which can be sensed from a mile away.
