As most of you know by now, my natural nature of rice can't help but to modify anything I lay my hands on. On that note, let's mod the suspension of the daily driver to the hardcore MAX!
Here we have a Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS, and today we're going to throw on:
- forged aluminum control arms
- cusco trunk v-brace
- whiteline roll-center kit
- GT Spec Anti-Lift kit
and turn up the dampening on the existing Bilstein PSS9 coilovers! Screw comfortably daily drivability... we want hardcore cornering because every highway exit ramp is meant for 4-wheel drifting. (And yes, I do make the tires squeal on every on/off exit ramp... don't ask, it's just a ricer thing to do and I fully admit it.)
Over time, I found that the weakest point in my application are the tires; so those will need to be upgraded... hell... lets upgrade the rims while we're at it. In the next few months, you'll see some light-weight forged 12lb rims accompanied with beefier/wider tires. And I already spoke w/ Dave @ Function:TUNED on installing a roll cage in this puppy since I've already purchased the 4pt harness system. Gotta go ALLZ OUT YO! He was like.. "uhh... in your daily driver?" Hellz yeah man.. in the daily driver! I have a belief that you should have fun all the time when you're driving... the daily driver should not be an excuse to drive like your grandma.
Who cares if this thing has only got 120awhp, perfect candidate for some time-attack time trails all while getting 30/mpg.
So here I was chilling outside of FT: (wonder whos cars those are)
Install Items:
Anti-Lift kit: (changes the car's castor for improved suspension geometry and handling)
Stock arm vs JDM Forged arm:
Weaksauce vs Pimpsauce:
v
I just noticed nothing in this pic is stock anymore, this is sad.
Trunk bracing, Cusco V-Brace:
Here's a nice butt-shot:
As for the Z, it's going in for a beefier tune... MORE power! (even though I never boost, it's just for bragging rights... I mean... who cares about going fast, I just want a print-out of the dyno readings to display on my window) 3" test pipes, 3" TD exhaust! (yes I know it's sad, I don't even have these yet) and perhaps get my front bumper put back on for show purposes. (I just wanna look fast that all... hell... Fast n Furious is coming out next week... gotta get prepared for rice action!)
On another note, I have a cool mid-night touge backroad battle against another 350z to add to the mix, stay tuned!

ethan - Of course, that's simply more ricer points and more items to add to the bottom of my sig so ppl think i know wtf I'm talking about when I actually have no clue =)
KAT - what did you end up getting? These are fairly affordable (the lower model L's) you can get one for like 1k
SIM - Get a RS! Guaranteed you'll have more fun driving this sucker! And they're awesome on gas as well. We could totally have beater meets and still keep up w/ the big boys.

I think on another thread I already said that the RS is one of my favorite car but the problem is finding one and finding one that would be affordable. I would love to buy an RS so if you find one for a decent price pass it along brother.

Yeah, I mod my dd. Small things though. Clutch, flywheel, short shifter are the only performance mods. Reflector deletes and blackout grill/kidneys are the only visual mods. I may upgrade the suspension after I see what it will do at VIR on stock setup - however, I don't want to sacrifice ride quality since it is a DD... so we'll see.

Since I could not sell my car, I had to buy a new car to avoid taking a hit.
Great car, but I wanted something "cash" and not on payments :P
