let them total it, and get your check and then buy it back!

I think the rule of thumb is if the repairs are over 70% of the black book value they total it.

I know, I know. But I'm not 100 % sure I'm going to stay in MD depending on where the jobs are so I'll probably start with an apartment in Piney Orchard first.

Fieldstone Farm is where I lived before buying this house, the #5 garages there are bad ***, large enough to fit all my tools, jacks, 2 motorcycles, and my car and STILL have enough room to install a turbo kit...

My town house garage is total fial. Large enough to fit my car and wedge1 bike somewhat behind it at an angle. I have ZERO room for error.

Wheels are being stolen all over the place. Mostly stock. I'm pretty sure the price of metal is up...

Sooo....it's looking like they might "total" my car. The repairs will cost about $9000...which is about 75% of what the vehicle is worth. I'm stuck...and I don't know what to do.

Cant you just buy it back? I mean, it kinda seems like it might work out for you.... There is obviously nothing wrong with it.

Good news!

The adjuster just called a little while ago...they are NOT going to total the car. He "appraised" it at $18,111. I don't know where in the hell he got that number from, but I'm happy.

I'll be getting a nice check in the mail.

NOW, the question is...what wheel/tire set up can I get and still stay in BS class for autox?

The following modifications are allowed in stock class:
• Appearance, comfort and convenience options, e. g. gauges, alarms, turbo timers, shift *****.
• Removal of spare tire, tools and jack.
• Harness (seat belts cannot be removed), must be DOT approved.
• Any DOT approved tires (see rules for restrictions), including R-compounds, of any size (no modification of fender well, no rolling fenders, removing liners, tires can’t rub a hole into the liner either).
• Wheels (stock size only, offset within 0.25"/6mm of stock).
• Wheel spacers (resulting offset within 0.25"/6mm of stock).
• Lug nuts.
• Brake pads, speed bleeders.
• Shocks that maintain stock ride height, can be adjustable. See rule book for details!
• Front sway bar.
• Different alignment using factory adjustments (no camber bolts).
• Spark plugs.
• Air filter element can be removed or replaced.
• Cat-back exhaust.

AND

WHEELS
Any type wheel may be used provided it complies with the following:
it is the same width and diameter as standard, and as installed
(including wheel spacers if applicable) it does not have an offset
more than +/- 0.25 inch from a standard wheel for the car. The
resultant change in track dimensions is allowed.
Wheel spacers are permitted, provided the resultant combination
complies with the offset requirements of this section. Wheel studs,
lug nuts, and/or bolt length may be changed.
