Anyone else not modding because of their job?
I'm thinking about painting my car white and adding some yellow leather seats and redoing the rest of the interior yellow.
Good idea? think it would look hot?
Just need to find some really slanted headlights. Maybe I can get some custom white tape to tape them up leaving just a little slit for my headlights to shine.

My car did determine where I bought a house, first requirement= no speed bumps in neighborhood!
Be careful trying to please your boss, a co-workers sister got screwed because she sold her Scion XB after she was told to get a nicer car by her boss for a promotion that would require her to entertain and travel with clients. She bought a nice Land Rover and didnt get the job...she can still afford it, but she didnt need to buy it otherwise.
If it really becomes an issue for you, get a used low-mileage Camery, Accord or Maxima with leather for a second car and call it a day.

LOL, same thing happens to me about work.
I own a construction business and I am the one in charge of visiting clients for proposals and estimates.
Every time I took the Z (which is stock!) People look at me all weird. One of them even told me: "So I guess I am going to be paying for that car if I hire you, right?" WTF??
That is why I bought an 09 WRX instead of an older STI. I cannot call that short of attention.... (from clients, or police :P)

The OP's post isn't a very accurate one because if you're not modding bc of a job, perhaps the Z is the wrong car to begin with. If you drive a Z and isn't modding bc of work, you might already be driving the wrong car to begin with. Not sure if modding is such a deal breaker, because if image is such a big deal to maintain, not sure if the Z qualifies as an image enhancer when it comes to status (for job/income purpose)

Stay classy San Diego, as long as you don't go crazy I see no problem with aftermarket parts. If it has wheels chances are I have modded it up. I look forward to getting old and working on my wheelchair.
