TracQuest Sears Point 12/9-10. VERY low attendace!!!
Hey guys - this is my first post to my350z.com, but as someone who is seriously thinking about purchasing a Silverstone Track, I thought I'd share this with y'all.
TracQuest , an excellent club that runs very robustly-serviced driving events (included breakfast, catered lunch, evening banquet, drinks throughout the day, excellent instructors, etc), is hosting an HPDE at Sears Point this coming Monday and Tuesday. For those that haven't run Sears Point yet, its an absolutely amazing track - the most enjoyable one on the west coast (even more than Laguna) and IMHO one of the best in the nation. Here's an in-car video from early this year, driving the full course for the first time in my M Coupe. I had crappy Kumho 712's on the car at the time, so the terminal understeer resulted in quite late apexs (especially in the carousel), but it should give you a good idea of that the track looks like nonetheless.
In any case, I just spoke with Todd (the event organizer) and he told me that attendance will be VERY low for this event. That means 15 car run groups on a 3 mile road course, which is almost as good as a private event! Based on my past experiences with TQ, it also means that he'll probably be combining run groups at some point, resulting in nearly unlimited track time over the course of the 2 days. This is a great opportunity to run one of the best tracks around, get tons of track time, eat great food, get excellent one-on-one instruction, and see/ride in lots of cool cars (including 2 Radical SR3s!) for a reasonable price - especially considering the amount of driving time!
I'll be instructing in my red with black stripes almost-Spec Miata (which I sold my previous BMW M Coupe for), so come by and say hi if you end up attending. Even if you can't sign up for whatever reason, feel free to drop by and spectate for a while. Its a fun group with lots of cool cars. Besides, I haven't seen a 350Z outside of the SF car show, so I'd love the chance to give one a closer look-see.
Email me (kevin@theorphanage.com) or Todd himself (tserota@tracquest.com ) with any questions.
Hope to see some of you there, whether you're driving or spectating!
Cheers,
Kevin
