Pontiac Firebird (formula model)
Cruising last night along 94 N (Illinois) near Gurnee, I see someone coming to kiss my rear bumper. (three lane highway, I'm in the middle lane.) I quickly swerve into the far right lane to make him come alongside me. I downshift from 6th (cruising) to fifth and rev my engine to redline until I know he bites. He goes! I pop it into 4th and the fun begins. (I should mention that I have racing fuel 100 octane in my tank.) I reel him in fairly easily and pass him. He comes at me again! this time he doesn't even wait to pull even with me...NO PROBLEM! (traveling in 4th) pop it into 3rd, then back to 4th and redline 4th and upshift to 5th. I pull even and then PASS HIM...before I knew it my speedometer read 132! YAY! (this was my first race and kill.) He didn't play anymore after that!

Why would I write something in falsehood? I am just posting a story that put a smile on my face. The fact of the matter is why did the driver not play when he was ready and willing on two prior attempts? If he was going to put me to shame then he would have just done it the first time.
But no offense taken cuz I know what happened and you weren't there. (Even if the car was automatic, it's still a good kill.)
(Getting a new tranny today! )

You ever think people are saying the things they say is because your story is not very believable....

Race gas is not going to do anything for a car on stock compression, and stock spark/fuel tuning, except burn up your O2 sensors quicker. Additionally if its leaded you'll foul your cats. If you are running race gas in your car, you're wasting money.

No comments on the race. Not getting in the middle of that bee's nest.
If you're interested in saving money, I'd suggest you skip the race gas next time. If you want to be 100% sure that it's not necessary have the car scanned and run with a wideband O2 sensor next time you have it dyno'd. If you're not running lean and you have no knock retard throughout the WOT runs on pump gas then anything more is a waste of money.
If you'd like to read up on the subject in depth...

(As for your remark about me racing a v6...tell me how it would keep up with me from 75 to 130 mph with my foot floored all the time?..also what's up with all these mis-shifting excuses, if you can't shift then that's your fault. Can't be sympathetic to that!)
I was just talking to my friend and he said that I should expect ignoramouses like you to flame. I bet you wouldn't even believe my friend's timeslip of 11.78 @ 121 mph in a 97 Eclipse (modded of course, but still a 4 banger) and that he beat a lingenfelter corvette. But I can only control my intelligence, not yours.

Oh yeah, I have a hard time with the idea that the 4G63 is "still a 4 banger" - that's like calling the 2JZ "just a six pot".
