350z vs New Maxima
has anyone had a chance to race the New Maxima by any chance?
I've been wanting to because their specs are scary.
For a Sedan? 265 horsepower is a Sh*t load of power and i remember driving the older 3.0 maxima's and those suckers would respond quickly

Don't worry about the '04 Maximas. It is the '02-'03 6 speed Maximas that are the fastest. They are low 14 stock and a intake, udp away from high 13s. The success of those Maximas are the 3200lbs with 255hp.

Yeah, I got a buddy with one. I said "go whenever" and he punched it. I hit it right after him. It was very even until we went around a corner and I passed him like he was standing still because the Max's handling sucks comparatively. His was an '02 Max.
Basically it boils down to a drivers race.

Yeah I have both dont get caught sleeping on an 02/03 they pull and pull almost as good as the 350, but the 04 is a tad slower due to the weight. Some guys are running very low 14's with manuals and mid 14's stock with the automatics. And to add to Maximan when they dynoed the 02/03 they were putting out more torque than Nissan claimed from the factory. Maxima.org has alot of info on them. Way to spot one from an 00/01 is silver rear lights, HID's, side skirts, huge Nissan hamburger logo up front and blockier front end.
