BEST JWT CAMS FOR A NON BUILT DE (non revup) for TRACK USE
#21
How did it go ?
04 DE
This was my result with these bits I added over Christmas in my tiny garage.
JWT C8's + springs/shims
CPZ Hitachi 75mm Throttle Body
Mishimoto intake tube
06 Velocity stack trumpet thing in the intake box
Revup oil pump
obviously I changed a bunch of service parts too
(from the old remap this what was done at that point)
Plenum spacer
Resonated straight pipes
Cobra sports Y-pipe back 3" exhaust
Note that there's my old map from 2012 when it was last tuned (as I've not done anything to the engine since then).
All of the work I've been doing since then had been to the chassis.
The car is only used for fun (reg track days).
The changes are dramatic, in a brilliant way I certainly didn't expect it to change character quite soo much
Of course I'm not finished, I need to do long tubes and a little fettling with the intake plenum.
And perhaps at the end of the year if I can afford it, I'll sort out the bottom end. Bare in mind prices over here are far higher than for you guys in the USA, which is why I didn't do it now.
I'm not chasing the power, I just wanted to make it more suitable for track duties in the long term and optimise the C8's. And the other thing is I'm spannering the work myself, and I'm really enjoying learning that.
I also have 2 other dyno outputs from different places back in 2013/2014. They were just rolling road days, nothing to do with tuning.
I'll keep consistency with tuning at my chosen place (which reads lower than those others, not that I give a flying F).
Sorry for the thread hijack.
