Second Nissan, First one that doesn't suck :)

Hey guys, I have been stopping by this website for a long time looking at pics of Z's, but I finally got my own this past monday. It's an '03 Silverstone Enthusiast. I love that car, and have been telling all my friends I'd own one oneday since the second they came on the market. Now I finally have one and I know how you guys feel! I plan on keeping it mainly stock for a while until I can save up some money. After that, I haven't really thought of what to do yet...I'm just glad to have the car!

Watch the tire feathering and transmission issues.

He probably got a good deal on it. What did you pay? How many miles?

Personally, I'l be going for an 04.5 +

Ztalker Jul 22, 2006 11:48 AM

03 is actually the best kept secret out there(lighter & mod friendly)...excellent choice btw.

finallyaZdriver Jul 23, 2006 10:53 AM

I got it for $23k because I know the salesman, and it only had 29k miles on it. I would prefer a newer car, but I took what I could get

Oh, by the way...I'm having issues with lag when I hit the gas. What do I need to do to fix that? Like I mentioned before, I'm not going to modify it for a while until I can save up money, so I just want it to be the best it can be for now.

Is your TCS off?

The salesman you knew, ripped you off. I got my car ('05 Enthusiast) in September of last year for $25k. Sorry to tell you, but you should've searched a bit further for a used car.

finallyaZdriver Jul 24, 2006 10:05 AM

Really? The blue book on my car is $25k...I'm not really worried about it, I am glad I'm out of my junky 93 altima. It was a good deal to me, so that's good enough for now.

Oh, and no, the TCS is not off.

350ZZack Jul 24, 2006 12:28 PM

TCS = Traction Control. The "bogging" your feeling is the engine cutting power because it's losing traction. Turn the TCS off and you'll launch like the rest of us. :)

Congrats on your purchase. I hope your as happy with your new 03 as I was last year.

(Rich, still grins when he looks in the driveway)

Thanks for the help, that definitely made a big difference. When I asked someone else about traction control, they said that the power from the wheel that is slipping is just re-routed to the opposite wheel so that you won't slip. I didn't know that it slowed down the engine to stop the slip.
