Default New Here, Looking To Buy A 350Z

Hello everyone! im new over here at Z forums, justt to give you some background information on myself, i am 17 years of age and live in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, i am currently the proud owner of a Cobalt SS (Pics Below)and avid poster on cobaltss.net. unfortuinatly my car was purchased under the confines of a lease and sadly i will be getting screwed at the end . this had lead me to find somone for a lease takeover and purchase a new vehicle. i was looking for power and luxury and i found it in the 350Z. I plan to purchase a 350Z for under 20,000.
I have a few questions such as are there any well known problems with the 350z? and is there anything i should look out for with high mileage ones.
im looking forward to meeting all of you and purchasing a Z in the near future!
now for the pics of my 2007 Cobalt SS 2.4L LE5 VVT

hahah thanks everyone for the comments..

i pay for my vehicles on my own, yes it takes away from my social life and yes i do work full time and go to school, but i make it happen.

sorry to bring up a dead thread, but my buddy reciently got a 350Z into his dealership and the price is right, we are in talks on how i can get out of my lease...

my question is (and please be honest) what the known problems and things i may run into with the Z, mind you i do plan to mod it and live in a "winter" climate.

P.S I love my cobalt, its only a 2.4L NA but it is pretty quick ,granted i know the Z will be faster..but itll also guzzle more gas

thanks for the comments guys and gals!

2001 and 2002 350 Zs are very rare. Let us know if you find one.

For info on the years and models that were made go to www.nissanhelp.com

Exactly.

Get the Z. As long as it has had regular maintinence done it should be fine. I'd try to find a 2004.5 because most of the problems that the 03's had are fixed.

my cobalts a great car and if i didnt lease it i would buy the hahn turbo kit and be running mid 13's all day.

im not sure what year it is, but it has 45,000 miles so i assume it will be before 04

But with a Z you could buy a built engine and turbo kit and be running 11's and 12's all day...

Keep in mind the Z isn't the greatest car for winter climates. Be ready to buy all-season tires or a new set of wheels/tires for the seasonal change.

thanks for the info, i am aware what a Z can do, great machines but by no means greatest car on the planet, and i dont think cobalt bashing is needed..

i would most likly end up buying a good set of winter tires, how do the Z's handel with winter tires on in the winter?

From what I've read here if you get a Z with LSD & VDC and use winter tires you will be okay. Better yet would be to get a cheap beater for winter.

It's a gamble--even with CRs' stats, which are pretty reliable, BTW. Stay away from the '06ers, due to the oil consumption issue. Your best bet would
probly be an '04, '05, then skip to '07, but that skip may cause a major $$ in-
crease. Sounds like you're a good budget mgr., so sit down & calculate your
investment. Finally, reliability-wise, Chevys can't compete with Nissans. Weigh
every detail well & good luck.
