Default You guessed it... my new addiction.

Hello all!

First, I would like to say thank you to the community here for helping me research this purchase. I am about to pick up a 2006 Interlagos Fire Enthusiast with the 6MT. I had been looking for good cars as a quick, fun car, and have always been a Nissan boy. therefore the 350 was always near the top of the cars I was looking at.

The 350Z looks to be a great platform for anything i decide to do to it, which as of right now may not consist of anything.

I am picking it up for $19k, with 26k miles... here are some preliminary pictures!!!!

2006.

Analyze and check it to see if it's one of the oil burners.

Congrats on the Z

What qualifies it as an oil burner? I mean, is it the Rev Up engine that burns the oil, or is it just random engines? Just pure bad luck? What criteria can I look at besides the owners word to let me know if it has the potential. I asked the seller if it burnt any oil or had any tire feathering problems, and he said no to both. He didn't seems shady about it at all, but ya never know, there are some crooked dweebs out there.

I think how frequent you change your oil puts it in the oil cosumption problem...search a wealth of knowledge to be had, or hold or whatever....

shes a beauty. the "OC" issue is only for a handful of rev-up owners. i personally am one of the lucky ones that is not having that problem.

Thank you all! If it wasn't this color, I may be looking for a different non OC car, but i think i can deal.

Should be picking it up next week, maybe late this week. Just trying to get the bank to quit dragging their derned little feet with my loan papers.

It's the 05 Anniversary and 06 rev up motor. and it is more than a "handful". the dealer will do a consumption test to determine if your 06 has a motor that consumes oil beyond their limit. they will replace the motor if so. it apparently may have been a bad ring distributor. here is a 165 page thread discussing it.
