Thumbs up Looks like I'm a noob again.

Oh well. It is always fun to ask questions that were answered around 5-8 years ago . No worries, I won't be that guy. I doubt you'll see many posts from me in the tech areas, I'll be too busy searching.

Here she is, still on the lot:

Yes, I know the tails are horrid, and yes I'm already working on finding an OEM set. If you have some, PM me .

A little about the car. It is a 2005 base model with 29,000 miles on the clock. It is a single owner car with a clean carfax. I picked it up for $16,500. I ended up adding a 4 year warranty to it, just because at this point in my life I would prefer not to do any work on a car I'm not familiar with. I have too much else going on. I pick her up tomorrow evening.

My plans for the car are very limited for the time being. I will swap back to OEM tails, do some light suspension mods, rims, intake, exhaust. Just a little something to make it feel like my car. In the distant future, I'll more than likely tear the whole thing apart rebuild it ground up and make it into a nasty little weekend car. That, is many years away though.

A little past car history for you guys:
I traded my Wrangler Rubicon in for this. I also recently sold my '00 2 door subi and my R6 (got to love getting married!). Before that I had a '01 S2000 and before that a tricked out Ford ZX2 (read WAY too much money wasted, but lots of lessons learned).

This will be me tomorrow around 5pm ~>
this is my wife for the past 3 days when she found out I am trading my jeep in for the 350Z ~>

Some words that discribe my drive from the dealership back to work after picking up my Z:

Scared
Fast
Tight
Whoa
What
Cool
hahahaha
yahhhh
AHH
Niiiiiice

This is a pretty amazing car. I only wish I would have bought one 3 or 4 years ago when I got my S2000. This feels like such a more powerful and higher quality car. Wow.

The stealership didn't do a great job on the stratch, but it does look a lot better. I've got a guy that'll clean her up for me if I decide I really need to. I didn't expect them to do that great so I came in with low expectations. I'm just glad to get rid of the heavily abused jeep without losing my shirt .

Right now, I'm pretty much on cloud nine. To top it off... It's dinner time!

. Tq is soooooooo much more fun. It feels like I have a sports car.

So, my brother the mechanic popped the hood and said both belts need to be replaced ASAP so he'll be doing that this week sometime (i'm searching for UDP's right now...). Other than that... he said it looks good to go! They also did an oil change for me, but i'll probably do another one because I just simply don't trust them .

My wife took her first ride in the Z tonight. Terrified is how she felt. All i did was leave a parking spot and get to a stop sign while doing all of 10 mph. . My research on UDP told me not to waste the money.

Take it easy dude, you don't need a divorce already. Good luck with the 350.

Just so everyone knows, this is the guy that got me hooked on cars back when I was like 16 with our little escorts with a little website/forum he created (teamzx2.com) thats still running strong 8+ years later.

Haven't seen you around in the longest time! I looked through your pictures, looks like your enjoying life in Cali... How did you know it was me?! I'm sure you've figured out I'm married, mortgaged, and world traveled already too lol. What's up in your life??

It'll stay for now. It doesn't bother me nearly as much as the tails. I'll revisit that later.

No worries. I was like... what?? I'm barely moving! She's overly sensitive to cars (she actually hates them with a passion). Oh, and another couple things from her first impression of the car were:
"the inside isn't as nice as my uncle's S2000"
My response was... You're nuts! It's nicer.
"Its old looking"
My response was... Honey, its night time, it rained alllllll day, and its dusty from driving near a construction site. I'll wash it on Saturday.

Other than that she's in love. She woke up this morning and took a handful of pics and started sending them out to all her friends and family back home (she's from Saigon). She wants to get all dressed up for work today and on the way take some pics with the car. Sunday she wants it washed and waxed so she can take pics with it out near the beach or some other scenic area lol.

haha... yeah I read all that. I scanned TZ last night and saw your new car post, I figured you'd be posting here, so I just looked at the dates and compared pics. tylahjames is here too, he also bought a black 350.

Congrats on the marriage... you've been doing a lot of living since we last talked, it looks like. lol

And yes, cali (OC) is amazing. The temperature is always right, I live at the base of the santa ana mountains, and the beaches are 20 minutes away. Loooove it here, but I may end up in clearwater in the next year or so. We'll see.

Congrats on the new ride.

Great man. Yes, I've grown up a LOT since the last time we talked. If you end up in Clearwater look me up, I can always use a local friend! You'll only be about 20 mins from me. I've been talkin' to tylah as well on TZ about the new car... I saw him talking about his, and i was like... I wonder what those are going for... 3 hours later I signed the papers. LOL.

I"m looking to upgrade my headlights to HIDs but i want to make SURE i don't already have HIDs from something the previous guy did. How can I tell? I see i have a projector. Do i just look at the color of the light and if its more yellow than white then i have halogen? Do i look for something special on the back side of the head light?

When you first turn on your headlights (without previously having them on for at least a few hours), do they start off really blue and take about 30 seconds tu turn white? If so, you have HID.

Either way, the 07/08 headlights and taillights are dead sexy compared to prior years.
