Red face Civic owner who grew up!

After years of showing under the Honda umbrella, I finnaly upgraded and sold my civic. Dont get me wrong, I loved my civic, still do.. but I thought it was time to grow up a bit and step up my game (not that placing in the civic class is easy, but I needed some go when i slammed the pedal).

So I'm in a new city (just moved to San Antonio from Houston), with my new pikes peak pearl white 08 Z and loving it! Only mods so far are a slight drop on Eibachs, Nismo V1 spoiler and ofcourse the stubby antenna

I look forward to learning a lot on these forums and picking up some tips and tools!

Congrats on moving up in the world. I graduated also, from a 1997 Eclipse. I drove it for 10 years. I am from Houston also.

"not that placing in the civic class is easy". I couldn't help but notice this statement. Wait until you see how much more expensive it is to mod a Z, vs. a Civic. I'm into the show scene myself. My friend, it's a whole new ball game. Imagine spending over $4,000 on brakes alone. Not trying to brag, just giving you the reality of it, but my wheels and brakes cost more than a Civic alone.

Either way, congrats on the purchase. I hope you enjoy it. Have fun on the forums...

Thanks!! yeah, I was aware of the upgrade in modding expenses but I'm a firm believer in "ya get what ya pay for". I poured a lot of money into the civic to place in that silly complicated category.

I look forward to a new project, though I have to admit I've been leaning towards the same clean look I had on my civic lol. I LOVE white and carbon fiber, I guess old habits die hard! Except this time I think I'm actually going to embrace my girlyness and add some sparkly dark pink. Yeah yeah yeah I know, but I've been in the scene for almost 10 years and I've earned the right to be a little girly.

Oh well, you live and learn...

Sunworks, cool. Arron is my boy.

Congrats on placing. I know Honda is a tough catagory. Especially with all the JDM mods out there.

Haha, Joe. Wooooh!

I was at Import Reactor also. I've attached a pic of the 350 I own.

Meanstreets, no comment. That show left a bad taste in my mouth for obvious reasons, the Z catagory...

You car is sick! Very nice indeed.

Here is a pic of my civic from Import Reactor (cell phone sorry). The only thing i reallt miss is my PasswordJDM Recaros.. i thought about swaping them into the Z but it jsut didnt seem right lolz.

But I posted pics fo the Z in the Texas memebers section in the San Antonio Gallery Thread.

Yup, Joe and Ter are good people. Me and the crew are a tight knit group.

Thanks for the compliments.

I remember your car. Clean! Get rid of the Recaros and go Bride!

One word of advice around here. It's ABSOLUTELY nothing like H-I. Graduating into the 350z is going to bring you into an older crowd around here. Not saying you're not mature, just giving you a heads up. Some of the comments I've seen on H-I will get you eaten alive around here. Again, just giving you a heads up. You know I have to look out for my fellow Houstonians.

Feel free to PM me if you need anything...

Well thats good news... even though I am a mod, I can only take H-I in bits throughout the day lol. I look forward to conversing with a more mature crowd.

Former Honda Owner Checking in, I still have my MR-2, but its currntly up for sale now.

Its like night and Day driving the Z and the MR-2. Shifters are different, clutch egagement, one has bad *** response, with alot of torque, the other lags a little but has great High end boost. "SIGH" Its a hard thing to do, but its time.

I still want a Civic for a daily driver, economic,
reliable, practical, and fun to drive.
I had a 97 EX that I sold to my friend back in 03.
Car had over 150k, and not one issue ever.
He still owns it, and no issues at all, she has a
little over 200k on the clock.

to think about it, the only car I kept over the years, was my MR-2 I bought and sold 3 different Civics, an Accord, 1 Del sol, 95 Maxima, 94 Mazda 626, A scion Tc, and last my 86 Corolla GT-s<--- Miss that one the most.

I'm done, buying the Z made me realize, I should of bought one a long time ago,
