Default Finally got my Z!(well almost)

I'm Matt as you can tell << .The car is a 2004 base, black. It has 89,xxx miles on it for 10k. I'll be picking it up tomorrow, after I finish up some of the paperwork. There are a few small dings in both the doors(I almost didn't even see them). Also a small tear in the drivers side door panel and the center console lid is not attached exactly(will show). I got it inspected and everything is great on it; almost new tires too! I got a compression test done after the test drive. The results were 130/130/130/130/129/129 . He cranked it 4 times. I was told the last 2 went down due to the engine getting colder(We drove to the shop in about 5 minutes and waited about 15 minutes; the test took an hour(LOTS of interruptions). I feel kinda weird not knowing what the max compression is.He did crank it an extra time to show me that it will keep going up;it did jump up a good amount again(IDR the readings). Should i get another test done or does this seem fairly normal? Also believe it was not done at WOT. I have been lurking the forums now for 4 months so it will be nice to be part of the Z community !

Numbers seem decent for the car with 100k on it. Maybe a tad low. All are consistent and that's what you want.

If a third party mechanic thinks it's a solid vehicle and the test drive feels fine I'd say go for it.

Compression on the DE engine is considered standard at 185 PSI and low at 142 PSI, so its little low but at least they're within 10% of each other which is a good thing. A lot depends on what you intend to do with the car. If you're looking to go FI then you'd be looking at a rebuild. Perhaps the best thing is to go to another garage and get another compression test for a comparison. Oh yeah welcome to the forum.

Shhhhh don't tell them.. Maybe they didn't notice the Exhaust! welcome to the board and post pictures when you get her!

Be sure to search this forum and links from google for any other questions...

any plans? I suggest a differential since the base has an open diff.

Thanks! They had no idea what exhaust when i asked lol.

My plans- Pay it off the within 4 months. Driver mod. Once I do those, I'll start making it my own . Also will be fixing small things on the car such as bad window tint on hatch, The center "lid" compartment ,****, and a small problem with the drivers window seal.

I have to wait till Monday to get the car into the shop...
Well with my warranty the car has to be up to factory standards; so IF the compression is as low as that in my first post( which I don't think it is), I'll be taken care of.
