Best wife ever
Hello again everybody. I joined the forum back in 2006, but my Z and I separated back in 2010, so I've been absent for a while. Now I have a 350Z again, and I'd like to share my story. Keep the title in mind, because it's central to me having a Z again.
I'll be brief about the beginning to get to the "good part" faster. I'll start my story with my first Z. My senior year of high school I saved up all of my pay checks to save up for a down payment on a new 350Z. It was my dream car, and I was determined to own it. It was a brand new 2004 Silverstone gray Enthusiast model, and I loved it. I started dating my best friend in this same month. Being a FairladyZ, the car had to have the name of a fair lady, so with my girlfriend's help we named her "Jules" (a play on Juliet - from Romeo & ...you know).
Fast forward a year, and I decided to race an IS300 on the highway, on the way to my girlfriend's dorm. His tire somehow came off the wheel and the end result was my Z pinned against a guard rail. The damage estimate was substantial, and there was frame damage, so on my dad's advice I decided to trade the Z (along with the insurance check) in for a new one. I had only owned my dream car for a year, and I had made so many amazing memories in that time, so it was very difficult to move on to another car. Even if it was another Z, it could never be my "first" again.
My second Z was a 2005 Pikes Peak white pearl Enthusiast. The only "real" difference was the paint, but it didn't have the same "soul" as my first one, since none of my first Z memories could be attributed to this car. I came to love it all the same, and I owned "Ivy" (a play on Ivory...anyway) for 5 loving years. Having only two doors and the AMPLE storage space the Z has, I realized I needed to "grow up" and get a car I could actually use for "real life". In 2010 I traded my car in for a 2010 Mazdaspeed3 that I still currently own. Before parting ways with my Z I thought it would be smart to make a video to remember her by, so with my girlfriend's help we put together
exhaust comparison video. Because you can always look at the pictures later, but you can't always remember what she sounded like .
So, here I was, separated from a Z for four years. I can't tell you how many times I reminisced on my old Z's in that time, and thought about saving up to buy a new one. Fast forward to November of this year and I'm getting married to that same girl that I started dating when I got my first Z in 2004. She knew how much that first grey Z meant to me, and how much I missed it. We had talked about maybe getting a 350Z again in a few years, and this last year she had been talking about it with me a lot more. I'm very unobservant and simply thought she was also reminiscing, but she was really doing reconnaissance. She was picking my brain for all the little details about what I would want in a Z if we ever decided to buy one again. So, on our wedding day, at the reception, right after our parents and friends had given us their toasts, she had her own, special surpriZe.
So, here I am again. With a Z and the best friend I could ever have, my wife.

That's truly awesome, i could only hope that my girl would notice how much this z means to me and would surprise me with a new one if anything ever happened to this one.
You are probably the luckiest person ever, and is obvious you have an awesome wife, don't ever let that one get away, for sure.

Thanks everybody!
I wanted to reply to Nexx, and add that not only did she buy me a Z, but she got an amazingly well kept one that had an owner with great taste. This 2004 enthusiast had 73, xxx miles, Tanabe touring exhaust, Motordyne XYZ (straight pipe), Motordyne ART pipes, Motordyne 5/16 spacer, JWT pop charger, and a Cobb tuning accessport (stage 2+).
So, really.. I don't have much left to do in the "tuning game" but as soon as spring weather returns we'll be getting back into drifting again. She's looking forward to that even more than I am.
