My First 03 350z

Hi everyone I am new to the forum... Last week I picked up a 03 350z with 183,000 miles... I have been wanting one for a while and when I found this on I fell in love with the second I saw it... anyway just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully make use of this forum for future reference.

Congrats and welcome to the site.

Way to go brother! Yeah these cars are dope.

How much did you get it for if you don't mind me asking?

me_n_z 10-15-2015 02:50 AM

I got it off Craigslist... I was watching it for a while first he had it for $5700 then $5200 then $4200 I got 8t for $4100... all it needs is a front wheel hub.

Welcome.
Geez, $4,100.
I paid just over $34,000 for my Touring model when I bought it in '04, it's so sad to see these cars worth so little today.

me_n_z 10-15-2015 06:01 AM

They guy just wanted to get rid if it because he was getting another car...but the car is still worth like $7,300

bith8791 10-15-2015 06:15 AM

What model is it?
Track, Touring?
It's not worth $8,000 being an '03 with 183,000 miles, a Track or Touring model with that many miles isn't even worth $6,000 considering they're in excellent condition according to KBB.
My '04 Touring is in excellent condition, completely stock, 1 owner, 134,000 miles, every service record, still have the original window sticker and is only worth $7,500 according to KBB.

With that many miles I hope it came with some good maintenance records.
If not, what is your plan to get the car refreshed?
Fluids/belts/plugs?

SmoothZ 10-15-2015 06:36 AM

Sadly, the older Z's are selling for more money and I don't know why. I believe the newer cars run better, are safer, and have less maintenance issues if you take care of them.

Backwards thinking ftl.

bith8791 10-15-2015 06:47 AM

SmoothZ, older as in z31/z32 or older z33, i.e. '03-04?

SmoothZ 10-15-2015 06:48 AM

Older as in S30 or Z32. Nobody likes the Z31...lol

bith8791 10-15-2015 06:54 AM

Oh, I see.
Well... S30's are beautiful cars, I could imagine seeing a low mileage, completely original car going for a lot at an auction, even Nissan realized that when they bought a bunch of used S30's and restored them and sold them for almost what a Base model 350z cost in '03.
The z32TT is still a pretty remarkable car IMO, it was every bit as spectacular as a Corvette or 911, in it's day, well... not a 993 Turbo, I can see someone paying a premium for a completely stock example with low miles.

verdict. 10-20-2015 06:41 AM

Welcome and congratulations.
