Welcome " Mate " !

Nice " Zed " !

It has lasted 7 years without any outrageous mods so far, if it were me, I'd keep any future mods subtle and low key.

Kiz350HR 08-30-2016 04:06 AM

Haha thanks. Ive just got some new wheels fot it, CR kiwami
18×9.5+20 front
18×10.5+15 rear
As far as aesthetic mods go that will be it. Ive seriously considered going TT at some point.
Ive had a few R32s and S13s in the past so i do like a boosted vehicle

Welcome to the forum Kiz, tasty looking Z you've picked up there. I quite like the sleeper idea as well. I had a couple of S14's myself, one standard and the other with a built engine and big turbo and i must admit i do miss the kick in the pants that a turbo can bring. I thought of importing an S15 but the Z even though its NA just looks beautiful. Queensland from what i can remember has some pretty good driving roads so she'll be right at home.

Good on you for the new whills.... just make sure you wrap them nicely.

S'far as any further mods, I see you have coilovers already. Add a set of adjustable sway bars (Hotchkis, Eibach, Stillen, what have you) and that will complete the underside. (Best suspension mod besides having good tires.)

Welcome to the forum.

Yeah i have adjustable cusco front camber arms and have organised a cusco rear sway bar, im into drift so just going to stiffen up the rear for that and perhaps add a 1.5 way LSD

I was planning on running 245/40R18 front and 265/40R18 rear. I dont mind a bit of stretch but i dont want to lose the practicality of a sidewall haha

Welcome!

Kiz350HR 09-05-2016 07:12 PM

Well my clutch is on its way out, kind of torn between going exedy heavy duty or an os giken twin plate. I dont really want anything that's too noisey and im only running bolt on so its not like i have to worry about huge horsepower.
Anyone have any recommendations?

Kiz350HR 09-09-2016 08:42 PM

Well ive picked up a new rear sway bar and cusco front camber arms, second hand for $300.
Camber arms have split ball joint boots, so im trying do dodge up something that will work without having to buy the whole replacement joint

Only thing im worried about is the swat bar not clearing my duel exhaust

MartinZ 09-11-2016 12:35 AM

Those camber arms are for a specific purpose, when lowering the car a lot you get some negative camber, those arms give adjustment to take out the negative camber (back to stock setting)

Yeah i know thats why i got them, as it says in the previous posts, the car is on coilovers, im waiting on some work wheels to be delivered with good offset and width, camber is required to tuck the wheels

Negative camber is used to tuck the wheels under the guard in tight setups

These camber arms give minimal negative,
they are designed to push the top of the wheel outward towards the guard, positive camber

Yep. Thanks for your input, champ. :suicide:

I run that sized tire... The stretch on the front isnt that bad... Calling it a stretch might be a stretch:thumbup:

As for a new clutch the oem clutch holds up pretty good usually... Thats all I have experience with...

Have you got that width on a 9.5 wide rim? Could you possibly post a pick?

Yeah ive decided on a ceramic clutch from a local place, they have a pretty good reputation with the local car guys around my city. I wouldnt even be changing the clutch of it wasnt on its way out, 2k just for the kit! Bloody HR parts are ridiculously expensive haha

dboyzalter 09-11-2016 05:44 PM

Yes indeedy.. 245/40/18 on 18x9.5+15

I have 265/40/18 in back on the same wheel...

I would consider replacing the fronts with 265/35s when its time for new tires but im pretty happy with them as is.

Jeez that looks good. I went +20 on the front, starting to think i should have gone for a lower offset now haha

How far is your speedo off with the lower profile tyres?

dboyzalter 09-11-2016 06:07 PM

Thanks...

It's pretty accurate, I use the speedo on the pod and it usually matches those little your speed signs (sometimes off by 1) and it pretty much stays accurate with gps speed also.

I would say its very accurate still. Also haven't had any problems with vdc or traction control... Handling is much better in comparison with stock sizes wheels even with decent tires mounted.

Kiz350HR 11-01-2016 05:35 AM

Welp, is anyone cares about this "build"
Ive just put in whiteline diff bushes, had the VLSD shimmed (its tight like tiger) and put in a ceramic cushioned button clutch from exedy and the Z1 CSC with braided lines. Seems to be a bit of a pain in the bum to bleed but its getting there.

Still waiting on my Kiwamis to get here from japan
Also considering Tein extended tie rods for more lock
